Lacked attention to detail to finishing the painting project - most of the issues were caused by the hired help - who left many things I had to finish on my own, i.e. light fixtures not replaced or not screwed in. Although Scott (the owner) did attempt to do follow up once - various things surfaced afterwards. The problems could have been avoided by a simple walk-through before they wrapped up.

We hired Scott to paint the exterior of our two story home. We had had a complete home inspection done several months prior to give us a base as to what type of work should be done on our 30 year old home. Scott arrived within two days and pointed out the same areas of concern (dry rot) that was found during the home inspection. He power washed the entire exterior surface, replaced the necessary siding, painted the house using the two tone exterior colors we chose, all the trim, garage door which we decided not to go with the base of the house color which meant more work for him. Called for a bid and he was able to swing by Friday after work and had the bid out Sunday.
He gave us a few options on work that was needed.
After we selected him and what work we wanted he was able to squeeze us in between two larger jobs a few weeks out. We are lucky because most painters didn’t even return my calls.
He called a few days before starting to confirm that the start date was still good

We were introduced to Scott through a previous customer who had Scott paint a commercial property for them.
We needed to paint the interior of our entire house. Scott was exceptional. He not only kept to the budget and original time estimate but his attention to detail and workmanship is incredible. He works more like a craftsman which you don't see much anymore.
I would recommend him highly and would not hesitate to use him again and again.

Scott did an amazing job on the entire interior of my home and then some. All the walls of course, plus ceilings, doors, trim, and baseboard. He even made my stock, contractor-grade kitchen cabinets look amazing in a semi-gloss white!
Scott does NOT do anything poorly and the end result shows it. Here's one example: Those kitchen cabinet doors? He takes the extra effort to remove the glass from the wood doors before painting them, then re-glues/seals it back into place later. (Otherwise, he explained, you'd be able to see the original color through the edge of the glass!)

A very pleasant guy and offered a competitive quote. He was very willing to work around our schedule given he is a busy guy, and had some good suggestions too on stuff we had not considered. We had to temporarily abandon our painting plans unfortunately for an unrelated reason, but I was impressed so far. Very responsive too outside of normal hours. Thanks Scott.

I cannot recommend Rafael Painting highly enough. Scott is an enthusiastic man who is excited about his vocation; that's the first thing I noticed when he came to bid the job. He also pointed out and explained some recommended repair that he found while surveying the exterior of my house. Some of that repair was very obvious, once he pointed it out, and it is the reason I hired him over another very qualified painter.

Scott at Rafael Painting is the type of guy you want to work with. He came on time, submitted the bid quickly and completed the work very fast. The end result is GREAT. He helped me pick out the best colors for the interior of the rooms, and I was especially impressed that he took into considerations durability/life of the paint in rooms like the kitchen-which will help me save money in the future. Scott painted the exterior of our 1950s ranch-style home and we are very pleased with his work. He was very considerate of our family and took extra safety precautions during his prep work (we have a toddler who likes to stick EVERYTHING in his mouth). When we ended up not liking the color we chose initially (looked great on a swatch... not so much on a wall) he worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. We were moving into our new house on Saturday, and on a whim, I thought how nice it would be to have the upstairs bedrooms of our new house painted beforehand. It was Wednesday. I had a feeling that there was no chance anyone would be able to fit me into their schedule, let alone actually get the work done in time for our move in four days.

Scott painted my office many years ago and it was the most beautiful paint ever. He layered several colors to creat a foil like effect. I have since moved and now own a hotel in South Lake Tahoe. Remembering what a great job he did, I called and asked if he would be willing to travel up here and paint my lobby and dinning area. He did and just finished. It is beautiful. I like things unique and this time we added glitter to the paint for effect. He did a color called beach bum and then newspaper in another area both with the hint of sparkle. He also cut out a huge opening in a wall for a more open

Scott of Rafael Painting is one of the best painters I've worked with, and being in the design business for many years, I've worked with many. He's quick, accurate, offers good suggestions, and for the quality of work he does, reasonably priced. This is my second job working with him, and I'm sure there will be many more to come.
