I found SD Painting & Refinishing through Yelp and thought to give them a try since they have so many good reviews. I left Jose a message thinking that I would not hear back since I haven't had much luck with other contractors. Jose called me back right away and came out to the house the next day for an estimate.
Jose and his crew did a beautiful job on refinishing the kitchen cabinets from a maple finish to white finish. With the 6 feet distancing order, he took all the doors and drawers and did them off-site so only 1 person was at the house sanding and painting the frame. The white cabinets pop out against the stainless steel appliances, counter top granite and dark wood floor.
It looks like I have a brand new kitchen. The process only took 4 days and his crew showed up on time every single day. Thank you Jose for the wonderful work, most importantly I had no stress during the entire process.

My old cabinets look like new! I couldn’t be more pleased. New and better hinges help the doors close smoothly and quietly. This company did such a fine job that the professionals I hired to paint my home expressed admiration and asked who did the work. The knobs and handles hadn’t arrived upon completion of cabinet painting. Even though I had paid the bill in full Jose came back afterwards and installed. I love their work. Would recommend with no reservation.

We needed to refinish kitchen cabinets in our home in La Jolla. I wanted a quality job, that would make the cabinets look new instead of tired and yellow stained after so many years. San Diego Painting & Refinishing worked for 4 days sanding, spray painting, and installing new hardware and fitting our cabinets (many were misaligned after so many years), and the pictures I posted don't even tell the whole story. Jose , the owner uses a special paint called Renner Italian Coatings that produces a beautiful and durable sheen. I highly recommend this company for any cabinet refinishing and painting

I had thermafoil coated cabinets which were peeling and looked terrible. After obtaining a few quotes I selected Jose at San Diego Painting & Refinishing. I am so happy I chose them. We decided on refacing and new drawers and doors install and they look amazing! I was impressed because not only were they personable but they were also on time every day, took great care to protect all of my surfaces and belongings and cleaned up each day before leaving. I appreciated the professionalism and work product. I highly recommend!

Jose and his team were great! They painted our cabinets. He did a virtual estimate by getting pictures and measurements from me. The online payment system was clear and easy to use, and the estimate was very detailed. I was impressed with the attention to detail in sanding, priming, and sanding in between coats. It took a day longer than we were hoping, but he didn't want to rush the job, he wanted to do it right. They also changed out our hinges to new soft-close hinges. In my research, many companies won't touch the hinges. It makes my kitchen really look and feel modern.

We needed some repairs done to our kitchen cabinets, and we got new doors and drawer boxes as well. Jose was extremely professional, updated all the hinges and and drawer slides, and worked hard so we were only without our kitchen for 3 days. He also installed paneling and new corbels along our peninsula. I had a custom paint color I wanted and he was able to get it matched exactly. I also requested for the new doors to be bigger than the existing ones, and he was able to measure for those quickly. Super efficient and our kitchen looks completely different and updated. Would 100% recommend.

It has been a pleasure to work again with Jose Lopez at San Diego Painting and Refinishing. Jose and his partner completed the job in five days and provided quiet. courteous, efficient, and exceptionally beautiful results in converting my wood-stained cabinets to white. My husband remarked, “These cabinets were not painted; I think they installed brand new cabinets.” A friend remarked, “The wood looks like new white paneling!” The company sanded all cabinets down to the original wood, applied primer, and did the refinishing coat. Jose and his crew came out refinished and painted our kitchen cabinets. They were on time each day and I must say our kitchen cabinets look amazing. We are so happy with the way they turned out. They were very professional and took great care to tape off the floor and kitchen area. So happy we used them. We would definitely recommend them for your refinishing and painting needs. We plan on using them again to refinish a cabinet that we have in our family room.
