In October of 2013, neighborhood friends Max Higgin-Houser and Tony Nordeen sat in a local coffee shop penning up a concept for a better painting company, what would later become the foundation of BLUE Painting. After 6 years working for another painting company they saw an opportunity to do things differently, to do things better.
Exterior painting isn't only about curb appeal, it's also about protection. A well done exterior paint job is what shields your home against bad weather, extending its lifespan and increasing its monetary value over time. After the initial meeting and pymt the crew showed up late on the first day, showed up at 11 - on the second day left for ‘another job’ and then came back late again the next day. Poor quality and didn’t clean up!, Didn’t want to deal with them anymore so I did the touch up, zero chance I am recommending them or giving them an opportunity to ‘fix it’

The actual painting work is fairly good. Administratively they are a total disaster and bordering on dishonest. Blue Painting has completed 3 large interior jobs for us and each time, they have "helped themselves" to final payment from our checking account the day after the workers left. We have requested some follow up small touch ups and have been totally ignored despite conversations by text, email and phone. They have "Project Managers" and, as a Project Manager myself, I have no idea what they do or if they have any qualifications. I would not recommend Blue, I have read

We had Blue remove a wallpaper border and repaint our Master bedroom. The painters did not show up on the first day promised due to a vehicle accident. I can excuse that. The painters were late on both subsequent appointments arriving after 10 am each day. They were not prepared and ended up borrowing our ladder and box cutter as well as leaving several times to purchase material, and even asking to borrow our vacuum cleaner when the painting was complete. They did not cover our dressers or carpet completely and there was white dust left all over everything. The painting itself is only ok. I would

Popcorn removal - I was blown away by these guys! I called them and they answered. I set up a quote and they showed up on time. The PM gave me a window of when they would be there and the crew showed up. The guys doing the work were amazing! Respectful, prompt and the work was outstanding. Tony, Max and whomever else are ‘in charge’ are nothing more than greasy salesmen. The painter who was pleasant, was not a trained painter and even showed me the invoice of what he was being paid versus what I paid Blue Painting. He did not have very complimentary things to say about Blue, which showed in their post job follow-up for quality issues.
My simple advice: Select another service provider, don’t be fooled by the price - as you get exactly what you pay for.

BLUE Painting lied about lower cost financing being just weeks away. We chose them to paint our entire house based upon this good faith promise, and so we prepaid 50% down on a credit card with the understanding that it was a temporary payment until their new financing was in place.
After about a month of accruing interest, and days away from the expected start date towards the end of painting season, the salesperson finally admitted that they never had financing and probably never would, or at least anything available for this project.
So we were suddenly expected to pay the entire amount

I had to have them back 3 times. They left holes unfilled, thin paint application in several areas and rooms and the quality of patching holes was really bad . Very little to no cleanup was done Sanding dust was everywhere Paint splatter on all kitchen appliances and trim. Paint marks on carpet

I hired blue painting to paint the outside of my house and to patch some of the cracks in three ceilings of my 117 year old Victorian home. They started on the ceilings and used some sort of caulk and their fingers to fix the cracks, then sprayed the ceilings with paint which opened up old repaired cracks. The ones they repaired turned yellow and started to re-crack, they didn't even bother to sand so things were lumpy.

I would give these people zero stars if I could- I had informed them on two separate accounts that I would not be moving forward with their service and did not sign a contract. Several hours later, they still processed to my account.
I've have to now file with the BBB and my bank informing them of this issue and setting up a new account.
Whatever you do, please do not give any business your banking info, even if there is a charge to use your card. Use your credit card or even better yet, choose a different vender!

I cannot speak highly enough about these guys. They provided a quote and began staining my deck in about a week. I was not home the entire time that the deck was being worked on and upon return, it was not exactly as I had planned. This was 99.9% due to my lack of communication and rush to get out the door on a business trip. I called and expressed my concern with the final product and they came back and fixed it. No questions asked. Their painters are courteous and did not ask for anything out of the ordinary. They also respected that I have little ones that take naps and really never made

Just wanted to share my experience with Blue. I had a last minute paint job recently that needed to be performed in 2 days. I received a call from Max and we agreed upon a price and date. Although there were some challenges with the time frame as to the look of the paint once it dried, they came back to complete the job to ensure it looked perfect. Everyone that I had contact with were very professional from Max to Tony. I plan and hope to call them when I need my exterior completed in the spring. These guys went above and beyond. We had an unglamorous job of stripping paint off a mailbox stand at the home we recently purchased. I called three painters - two of which I'd worked with in the past, and Blue, because they'd marketed to our neighborhood.
Of the three, Blue was the most responsive. They called within hours of our request for a bid. It was a small job, and by simply sharing texts of photos, they offered it would be billed at the minimum rate they offer - which we found to be quite reasonable.
