Services
When you're ready to embark on your landscape project, it's important to find the best professional help available. Schlick Design Group has been designing and building creative, high-quality landscapes for Long Islanders since 1957, resulting in over 50 national awards for excellence in residential design and construction.
Our initial visit is an opportunity for you to explore the landscape potential that your property holds. We ask you about your goals and your lifestyle - what activities you and your children enjoy and what kind of entertaining you like to do - in order to guide you. By the end of the visit you will have a much clearer idea of what you can accomplish, how much it might cost, and how long it might take.
Philosophy: Gary is the office expert on site design, engineering, and management. He follows his projects from their inception to completion and continues to manage them as they mature. Gary's goal is for every landscape designed by Schlick to be a source of pride for both the company and the client.
Late June: Time to remove pansies and other cool-weather annuals and replace with summer flowers. Spring-flowering bulbs are loosely categorized into two groups in our climate: those that come back reliably every year, and those that don't. Daffodils, Narcissus, and most hardy woodland bulbs usually return year after year, as long as their leaves are allowed to turn brown after flowering before being cleaned up.

Gary at Schlick helped promptly address our emergency. Background: In June 2017, we had hired another company to provide professional grading around a new pool to ensure we directed water away from the pool and house. They claimed to be qualified and knowledgeable - they were not. They did not know what a swale was. They graded the yard so that all soil ran towards the pool and house and insisted that once the sod was down, it would be fine. We had two visits by the town complaining there was dirt on the street and in a neighbor's yard and were told to use silt fencing. They still did not clean

We had three gentlemen come to our home this morning to clean up an old sport court which hadn't been used in quite some time. They did a beautiful job; the court looks brand new. But, more than that, the crew were true gentlemen, very polite and kind. They also seemed very skilled in what they were doing, taking their time to make sure the repairs were done seamlessly. I give them some drinks and pretzels for a snack. They were very grateful and left without a trace of anything having been served. I highly recommend this crew and wish I knew their names to have thanked them before they left!
