Since National Clothespin vacated, we have been converting the old woodworking facility into a modern millwork shop.

Please note: Although we do on occasion do some smaller repair jobs, we generally only take on more comprehensive remodeling projects. Highlighted below is our general service area based on travel time from our location in downtown Montpelier. If you have a larger project and are outside of our general service area, we would still love to hear from you as we on occasion take on projects outside of the highlighted area in the image below.

At Clar Construction, our team of professionals will help you with every aspect of your bathroom remodeling project, from concept through completion. We help our clients by listening to their wants and needs to produce high-quality spaces tailored to their preferred taste and aesthetic.
Sometimes our clients find just the right location for their new home, but the house itself is just a bit too dated or deteriorated to provide a new owner with the quality of life they are looking for. In these instances, a whole-home remodel should be considered. Our team can revise the floor plan, add windows to capture light and views, and install all the finishes to make your new house the home you want it to be.

Dan and his team built a beautiful desk/hutch in our kitchen. During the design process, Dan listened to all of our wishes and worked with us to create the exact piece we wanted. His team was great when they were working in our home- very friendly and tolerant of the kids and dog running around. They installed it in a timely manner and the finished piece is better than I hoped for! It really makes our kitchen look much better. I would be sure to hire Clar Construction again.

Clar Construction was wonderful to work with. I contacted several companies to get quotes to build a new deck and Clar far exceeded the others in communication and professionalism. They always responded timely to calls or emails, put us on the schedule and started and finished the work when they said they would, and did beautiful work. The crew was friendly, picked up after themselves, there early, and had good craftsmanship. We are so happy with our new deck and our experience with them and would highly recommend them!

Dan does beautiful work. During covid, he worked with me (at a distance) to plan major renovations to a condo, coordinated the work remarkably efficiently given the circumstances, responded to my queries and changes quickly, and did his best to address any concerns I had. The result is all I had hoped for. I was also pleased to hear from employees and others who worked with Dan that he is an exemplary employer who does his utmost to keep his employees and clients safe, provide good working conditions and benefits, and makes employees feel valued and respected. Renovations are costly, to be sure

I have used Clar Construction for all my projects over the past 6-8 years and have always found them to do quality work, complete it according to the proposed timeline and plan, and treat us respectfully and honestly in the process. While others may charge less, the quality of their work justifies the price. And you always know where you stand expense-wise and are given pricing alternatives. I highly recommend Clar Construction!

2019: Our master bathroom and closet renovation was in the superb hands (and creative minds) of Dan and the entire Clar Construction team including an outstanding group of subcontractors for tile, electric, plumbing, etc..
Working with Clar from concept through completion was seamless and truthfully, fun. Dan and his team assured exceptional and clear project communication throughout the entire process; the budgets were followed, meticulously reviewed and importantly met at project’s completion.

Entirely positive experience! Quality craftsmanship. Good value. Clear and easy communication with Dan from start to finish. The carpenters are a real team, it’s obvious they enjoy their work. Dan helped me understand a project in our home to redo some stairs. While we decided not to do the project, he was incredibly thoughtful in his approach toward the project, and did a wonderful job in quoting for us so we could determine if it could work. This kind of communication is key to a successful project, so even though we didn't move forward at this time I've left knowing much more about my options.
