Johanna helped us create a design to tie together a sunroom, screened in porch, and outdoor planting and seating area- it was quite an extensive project! She assisted us with design elements in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Johanna was able to work around our need for low maintenance design that would function for our busy family with three active children and two dogs.

Twenty five years ago, when we built our house we were new to the area and couldn't find anyone who knew of a proper landscape designer. Not even our builder!
After a year or two we thought we had found the right person. Hired them but after some time found the results were not what we visualized. There were too many plants that were just too big and were planted too close to the house and either had to be removed or cut back almost every year. And over the years we added plants without any master plan, just putting them where we though they looked right. So you can probably understand the way

We wanted a cohesive overall plan for our newly constructed property. Johanna is exceptional! My property, originally built in 1900, sits on a very narrow and steep lot. The backyard has never been a usable space...until now. Her years in the field and dedication to the project allowed for a remarkable transformation. What was once a jumble of trees and weeds has become a beautifully terraced backyard. This was a very complicated project, she managed all the subcontractors and went above and beyond when torrential rains threatened to wash away newly planted gardens. I am thrilled with my new space and will definitely have her assist me with any new landscaping projects

JFK Landscaping Design did a complete renovation of our residential landscape and is highly recommended. Johanna was the designer and general contractor for all work, including surveying, grading, drainage, rock wall, tree care and removal, stone patio, grass, and irrigation. Throughout, she was thorough, communicated well, and was adaptable as changes occurred. She worked well with contractors, both securing them and supervising.

JFK Landscaping Design performed an amazing redesign of our property. When we purchased our home the landscaping was 1) overgrown, 2) lacked interest, 3) provided little privacy. Johanna took all of our concerns into consideration and produced a wonderful design. To save on costs she helped us phase the project into a logical sequence. We completed the first phase this year, and are already getting daily complements from neighbors on how beautiful our property has become. I am a very quality minded builder/remodeler in the Concord area. We work exclusively with like minded customers, and contractors, which is why I strictly use JFK for all our projects. Everything about Johanna's work screams quality, and she is just the kind of person we like to work with. Johanna was very thorough in assessing my current landscape design and understanding my goals while developing a modified design that takes into account changes to my property since the original landscaping was installed. She has a very strong level of knowledge regarding trees, shrubs and other plants that are best suited for this climate zone and specific property characteristics (colors, textures, contrast, etc). She provided me with a comprehensive design and guidance on how best to proceed with the changes.

We have been using the landscape design service, and general landscape advice, from Johanna Kuss, since June of 2016. We have found her to be fair priced, responsive, creative, and meticulous with multiple projects. Jo is demanding of the vendors she partners with, both on pricing and quality of the work, and she is diligent in her supervisory capacity as the manager of any project. We now have a plan for our front yard, after multiple basic steps have been taken to set the stage, and we look forward to implementation this spring.
