Floor trusses are a geometric design using wood members fastened together with metal connector plates to form a structure which supports a given floor load. WTCA (Wood Truss Council), in cooperation with the Building Systems Council of NAHB (National Home Builders), sponsored the Framing the American Dream project to better understand wood framing.
TJI joists offer an excellent alternative to wooden floor trusses or flat roofs. These high-tech joists combine webs of O.S.B. (Oriented Strand Board) and flanges made from Microllam. They are patterned after steel I-beams. Next time you pass a commercial construction project take a look at the steel beams.
The brand Parallam is an engineered wood product made from parallel veneer strands and adhesive bonding. Parallams can be used for for beams, headers and columns. Parallam is manufactured by Weyerhaeuser and is the only parallel strand lumber available in the USA. Rectangular in shape, Parallam comes in widths of 3", 5" or 7", depths between 9" and 18" and a maximum length of 70 feet.

I would never recommend Custom Truss (CT) or working with Josh. Custom Truss & Steve Cury Construction failed to follow permitted plans or architects direction causing disastrous permanent altering truss & roof design defects. Josh is awful, rude, unprofessional, refused to explain or resolve known issues, said I am not the client even though I overpaid the bill per bid, he yelled at me saying I was wasting my time & Josh hung up on me. CT & Cury designed wrong trusses, Cury intentionally installed wrong design trusses, by-passed inspections proceeded with uninspected work out of order, & failed

Takes 50% upfront promises youba complication date currently it’s been double the time they promised. Now stating they won’t set up a delivery date til they get the other half. Refuses to do anything until they get 100% Of the money before they’ll even give delivery date. Will be filing with the BBB.
