Hired Black River to rip out my deck and put in a paver patio and do some grading in the yard. Kris came out the next day after requesting an estimate and got me a quote shortly after. He was in constant contact through the process of design, picking out stone color, and providing recommendations. We couldn’t be happier with the way the patio came out. In fact, we were difficult customers and changed the design halfway through, Kris’s response was “Whatever you need to be happy!” Patiently waiting for spring so I can have Black River come back out and spruce up the front of the house with

We contracted Black River to build a couple of fieldstone walls on our property. Work began almost immediately. There were some issues with acquiring the materials that we wanted, because we were looking for a specific stone, and this was during the Corona pandemic. Many of the suppliers were closed. Kris (the owner) actually picked up stone and started building the walls twice, but we weren’t quite happy with the stone. It wasn’t what we wanted. On the third try, he was able to find the stone we wanted and was able to have his men complete the job. We found Kris to be professional and delightful

BEWARE!!
I am the owner of a swimming pool contracting company, we have worked with Kris and Black Rlver landscape Management the on a few projects over the past 2 years. After seeing the way he conducts business I would avoid this company at all costs especially if has anything to do with the area around your swimming pool. There is not enough space here to list the reasons why I would not recommend him and I would suggest looking at my review of him on Facebook but he took the page down shortly after I posted my review.
I have had to listen to complaints from customers who I reccomended him

I found Black River Landscape over a year ago and was excited about their work. Unfortunately, I had several issues from beginning to end. I gave the business multiple attempts to correct each situation, but there was little genuine effort. I was trying to do a $40-$50K project in the front, rear, sides, and lower rear yard, and needed to drastically scale back the project due to loss of confidence in the team. Even with the scaled back project, the workmanship and behavior of crew (including lots of alcohol and horsing around) was unacceptable.

Originally, I had an estimate appointment that the representative never showed up for. After a sincere apology from Chris, the owner, we reset the estimate appointment and it was thorough and informative. My wife and I are not looking for a fly-by-night outfitter: rather, we are looking for quality. We still have not selected a landscaper that we wish to work with, but Black River Landscaping will definitely be considered.

We've been a client of Black River Landscape Maintenance for over 3 years now. We use them for regular lawn maintenance and contracted with them to build a beautiful patio and fire pit 2 years ago. This project transformed our unused yard in to an outdoor retreat!
This year we plan on shrubs to compliment all the other work and because of our consistent satisfaction with the price and quality that Black River Landscape Management offers, we won't even consider another contractor to handle our needs.
