Don at Measure Up really knows his stuff! He came by to take a look at some of the projects we would like to start at our house. We have LOTs of ideas and he was very easy to talk to. We were transparent with our budget and he was able to guide us on ways that we can still get what we want under budget!

My Dad was in the process of building his dream home when the initial general contractor all of a sudden disappeared less than half way through the build. We had so many partially completed projects and getting our contractor to even answer our calls was like pulling teeth! At this point, we were extremely skeptical with contractors because it wasn’t our first time getting burned.

Don remodeled a half bath for me. He tiled the floor and corrected an issue in the subfloor. He helped install the new vanity, installed the sink and new hardware, framed the mirror and the window, and installed a new, decorative backsplash. He added character to the bath by using rows of the backsplash tile to breakup a long empty wall. The effect is really unique and attractive.
With new paint and lighting, the once dark, worn out bathroom is bright and fresh looking.

We needed one of our bedroom windows replaced and were calling around to look for someone to come out and replace it. After leaving voicemails for 3 other businesses who never called back, I found Don on Yelp, called, and he picked up right away. I told him I was needing a bedroom window replaced and gave him the ballpark dimensions of the window measurements. He asked some questions I didn’t know the answers to, but was patient and helpful with walking me through how to tell the difference in order to answer. I had a few cracks in my large double-paned living room window. I called Don and he came out the same day (a Saturday!) to take a look and estimate the cost for replacing it. He taped up the cracks so they wouldn't continue to spread, and on Monday he placed the order for the window. A few days later, he replaced the window, working quickly, cleanly, and very professionally. It was not an easy job - window is on the second floor - but he and an employee did a great job. And, the final cost was slightly less than his estimate, which was nice.

We just bought our house in N Portland and discovered weeks in that the kitchen window was leaking a lot during the rains. Thinking that we would have to spend a couple thousand dollars to reframe the window, we called Don to come out and take a look. Not only was Don able to get us a fair assessment, he was honest with us in pinpointing exactly what was causing the leaking and was able to repair It at a fraction of the cost. I will definitely be using Don moving forward!

He provided a competitive quote and then worked patiently with me around several of my scheduling challenges. The work was completed in the time frame he estimated, even when there were some old house and localized rot surprises. The team was respectful of the property and everything was left clean and tidy.
