John Gillette has been in the construction industry, on and off, since he was 14 years old. I started out by sweeping out houses. Due to my young age I could not be on an active construction site, but was intrigued by what I saw, " says John. "One thing led to another and I started working in the summer as an apprentice laborer, carpenter and gofer.
Our process encompasses building design, technical design, plans and 3-D renderings, and estimating. During our initial meeting we want to get to know about your project - what made you think of this project, how you want to use the space, your budget, your lifestyle and style. After our meeting, you will be left with clear expectations of the next steps to start your project.
The traditional process of building an addition included finding an architect/designer, creating a design, and then finding a contractor. The benefits of using 3D designs with rendering software is the ability to bring your vision to life and avoid changes before remodeling starts. This design build method includes a team of Designer and Contractor/Remodeler who work together with the homeowner therefore communication is improved.

Working with John and company on our Master Bathroom remodel exceeded our expectations much to our delight. From the initial planning stage, they helped us decide how best to accomplish our goals. The communication was always responsive and prompt while moving through the planning stage to the work and actual completion of our project. Trent, our Project Manager, was always on hand (via phone, text and in-person) to coordinate the work and workers completing the work being done. There was never an issue they didn’t handle or resolve…quite amazing. All of their employees and sub-contractors

I can't believe the transformation in my home. Craftsmanship by John went above and beyond what I thought they could do - and then some!
Went from a closed in dark kitchen, breakfast room and den into a wide open space to everyone to enjoy and tons of light. I am so loving this space now. I highly recommend them for any work you need done - large or small.

I hired Craftsmanship By John to do some work on the front of my house to improve the curb appeal. The work they did exceeded my expectations and the professionalism they showed was impressive. The project manager and his team arrived at my house on time and they kept me updated on the progress as they completed the work. My project wasn’t as big as some of the full home remodels I had seen on their website, but I felt like they took great pride in the product they were delivering. Thanks CBJ!

I, as well, had a bad experience with Craftsmanship By John. Our project manager (who showed up very little) left in the middle of everything and I asked for a new one—I was told that the owner was now going to be my project manager. Unfortunately, he showed up less than the one before—I ended up being my own project manager, this even being admitted by the owner himself and he apologized profusely, but nothing ever changed. I felt they were not very professional, as the electrician and the owner “tried” to fix some dimmers and some are actually still upside down (sliding down makes it

What a joke. Tried to get a quote for post Hurricane Harvey work, including construction of a 34’x25’ garage. A project manager came out to my home (for about 10 minutes in total). He gave me a “ballpark estimate” on the garage - $175,000! $205/ sq ft for a box with a door and sheetrock? Clearly he wasn’t interested in the project - which I would have appreciated being told up front. Or maybe just taking advantage of people after the hurricane? He said he would provide a quote for a patio - based on what, I’m not sure... He took no measurements or photos, without my prompting.

I would never have another remodeling contractor work on my home other than Craftsmanship by John. Those guys are great! In addition to adding a new garage and garage apartment to my 80 year old home, they repaired immediately damage we sustained from Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Harvey. They have always been efficient and professional; the job has always been done right and completed on time.
