Vicksburg Square is located on a busy commercial corridor. A blend of exterior materials - 2013 brick, stone and wood wall panels were used to provide a contemporary image for the new retail center. Located in the historic Lowry Morrison Building, existing brick walls provide a backdrop for the optical shop.
The addition provides 40 new private resident rooms with kitchenettes, private shower and bathroom, operable bay window, internet access and overhead lifts system. Each floor is subdivided into two wings each with central living room and shared dining room. The building is designed for intermediate stay clients with a physical therapy suite on the floor.
Oaks Pavilion is a historic dance pavilion. Located in a city park, the pavilion was used first for dancing and later for roller skating. Wood shutters drop down to open the perimeter of the building up to cooling breezes from the nearby lake. Original wood floors and exposed wood rafters recall agricultural buildings for the same period.
