One of our current residential projects, this 10 bedroom home in the Fox Chapel area of Pittsburgh is Energy Star Certified and has a HERS score of 50, which means it will use approximately half of the energy of a home built to current energy code requirements. Energy efficient measures that were worked into the design include: high efficiency windows, spray foam Icynene insulation, 100% under-slab insulation, and high efficiency ground coupled HVAC system.

The challenge is to find the appropriate interstection of history and change in the physical form. Stephen Casey Architects was founded in 1994 with the idea of providing Architectural and Urban Design services with a particular emphasis on adapting the old to accomodate the new. The Pittsburgh region has a wealth of existing built environments that must be adapted to accomdate today's economic and social realities.
