YBA Architects is seeking a Designer (Architectural Intern) with excellent architectural design skill. This position will involve all stages of design and construction, with a focus on mixed-use multi-family, office and retail work of all scales. The primary function of a Designer is to take help with the design and production of quality contract documents while taking direction from the Job Captain and Project Manager.
YBA designs new buildings and places in existing urban environments that sensitively apprehend and add to their character and yield exceptional value. The Waterfront at Parker's Landing is a multi-phase mixed-use town center development located on the northern bank of the Columbia River in Washougal, Washington. Located on the 21 acre remediated brownfield site that previously harbored the Hambleton Lumber Company's main sawmill, YBA master planned the placemaking-focused, destination experience-oriented urban design and is providing full service architectural design for each of the buildings.
Downtown Rockwood is a ground-up, mixed-use development on a five acre site at the heart of the Rockwood neighborhood in Gresham, Oregon.
Designated as a town center within the Portland Metropolitan area long term plan, the 260,000 sq ft of new floor area in three significant buildings and extensive public realm will form the catalyst for urban regeneration within the area, which is one of the most socioeconomically challenged in the Pacific Northwest.It is also one of the youngest and most diverse.

Front 17 is a large mixed-use development on an incredibly challenging site. The narrow, wedge shaped property is located between railroad tracks to the Southwest and NW Front Avenue to the Northeast, it is at the edge of the Northwest District with a direct path into the Northwest Industrial area, and has views of the river, Fremont Bridge, and Mount Hood.
