My first experience in the construction business began at a very early age. At only ten years old, it was my job to haul bricks for my Father at his masonry company. That early initiation into the world of construction, under my Dad's guidance and mastery in his work, became the foundation for my life's work.
It also set in concrete the importance of quality work and loving what you do. I earned a degree in Fine Arts, with a strong focus on Architecture, at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Like many college students, I needed to work to pay for college. Working for a local builder of custom homes not only helped pay the bills, but also gave me an education in carpentry.
It set the course of my life's work. Life took me to Breckenridge, Colorado where I obtained my General Contractor License in 1980. In Summit County, I designed and built a large portfolio of custom homes for 15 years. In 1995, I moved to Pagosa Springs and expanded my portfolio to include: custom homes; multi-family residences; commercial structures; tenant improvements; design services; and various restorations.
