They are the BEST!! Gary and Scott (brothers) always arrived on time. They were careful with the work area, fixed some issues with our old hardwood flooring that we had lived with for years and found a perfect stain to match other areas of the house (one coat of stain and three coats of sealer). They replaced the baseboards and door that they had to remove to do a perfect job, moved and replaced the refrigerator like we asked, and so on. Our 400 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring was refinished in less than a week and looks like new. We had a gap in part of the hardwood flooring and you cannot tell

Gary did an amazing job restoring the original red oak hardwood that is in our 1960's home. The hardwood had been covered for years by carpet, and had major damage (pet urine, water damage from leaking roof lines and water damage from underneath) in many of the rooms from the previous owners/tenants. Gary had the best reputation and best price out of all the bids for the work. Highly recommend Jones Floor Designs.

I highly recommend Gary with Jones Floor Designs. My house is 63 years old and I bought it 10 years ago not knowing there was hardwood under the carpet. When it was time for the carpet to go I found original hardwood underneath (at least I think it is original) and it was in bad shape. I contacted Gary to evaluate the floor and give me an estimate. From the start Gary was responsive and on time. He started the job sooner than we originally agreed on and he was on time every day. My floors turned out beautiful. I used this business to re do all my hardwood floors. Gary was professional and excellent in what he does. The project took a couple days longer than expected due to damage in some areas that needed repair. He replaced damaged wood,sanded,stained, replaced old base boards with new ones. He paid so much attention to small detail that I was amazed. I would highly recommend him and would use him again in the future.

Gary did an amazing job on our hardwood floors! We recently bought a older home in WC with 1970's linoleum in the kitchen. We wanted to match the old oak wood floors that buddied up to the kitchen. The challenge being that the floors are older oak and variegated in size.
Spoke to many people who wanted to put in engineered hardwood or could partially match, but Gary gave me confidence that he could get same wood, size, then sand and stain to match.
He tore them out and perfectly matched the old oak hardwood floors. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference. See attached pictures

We hired Jones Floor Designs to refinish our kitchen hardwood floors, and a few other areas that had significant wear and damage.
To say that they did a good job would be an understatement.

Gary is the ultimate of what a professional is and a person that truly takes pride is his work. he sanded and restained 2 rooms and 2 hallways. What a difference, after he was done, he said they hadn't been done probably in 20 years.

We had let our kitchen floors, with water marks, go far too long. I remembered the last time they were refinished and all the dust everywhere! Gary kept it very clean. He was on schedule every day. And he delivered a beautiful floor! The water damaged areas were gone and he reset many, many nails!

Gary was great from start to finish. He installed about 500sqft of red oak in our new house. He was the quickest one to get us a quote, the most reasonable, and was done with the job 100% on time. I contacted Gary at the last minute on a Thursday and we were able to schedule an appointment the for the following Monday. Gary showed up exactly on time and began installing hardwood flooring for our kitchen, hallway and family room. Four days later we returned to our home and were amazed by what Gary was able to accomplish in such a short period of time. The floors looked fantastic and I would highly recommend Jones Floor Designs.

I called Jones Floor Designs for an estimate to repair our water damaged hardwood floors. If first impressions mean anything, Gary offered to come out to Orinda on a Sunday morning to take a look and give us an estimate. On time and no excuses, I liked Gary from the start.
The estimate was fair and we signed with him to start work that week. We were having company over that weekend so we asked for a no work day on Friday and he accommodated our request without objection, finishing up the following week.

We are thrilled with the refinishing results of our decades old red oak floors. When I first saw them I thought Gary had replaced them instead of refinishing them! He also replaced the wood in one room and it is gorgeous. He and his assistant were prompt, organized and cleaned up everything perfectly. I highly recommend them. One tip, on the first day of staining particularly, keep all your windows wide open (oil based). The next two water based stains are not nearly as noxious.

I spoke to Gary about having baseboards installed at my house and he quickly gave me a quote. I asked if he would apply a military discount for being a Vet and he said he couldn't because the price he gave was as low as he could go, which I understood. Gary is amazing! I just bought a home in Antioch, and the same day I got my keys, Gary came out and gave me a quote. The next week he started on Monday, and finished on Wednesday! All by himself, and it looks amazing. I'll definitely be referring Jones Flooring to my friends. Can't wait till I can have the upstairs done in the future.

We have been remodeling our newly purchased home since May of this year. I wanted to remove all the ugly carpeting and replace it with laminate flooring,so I started to look around and made a few phone calls and I wasn't happy with any one till I spoke to Gary from Jones Floor Design.
