I began painting houses professionally in 2005 after painting for friends and family for many years. I've worked in all kinds of houses - from extravagant shorline summer homes to the very littlest "cottages" - and have had the good fortune to meet with a wide variety of clients, and to work with some wonderful painting mentors.
Choosing the right colors takes a bit of time and thought, but helping you reveal and define your personal color instincts is one of my favorite aspects of the color design process. A one-hour consultation is included in all painting projects and is usually sufficient. Supplemental and stand-alone consulting is also available, please contact me to talk through your project.
The bed alcove was painted white in this cottage bedroom to provide a contrast with the dark navy on the walls. The floor here is painted periwinkle blue to match the hydrangea theme of the decor. I rely on the C2 Coatings Alliance palette almost exclusively for my color design work. The colors are complex and appealing, and the "magic" C2 decorator sample box makes the process of refining your choices flow easily as we move through the process. These palettes have all been used in recent projects, and reflect a marvelous range of color, light, and style.
Cabinet re-facing is a great way to give your kitchen a face lift without going to the hassle and expense of buying all new cabinets. In this case the cabinets were primed and painted; the previously painted formica counter was painted and re-sealed to look like bluestone; and a "copper" backsplash was created with a translucent metallic glaze over a base color.
