Jeff Neal, the Chief Executive Manager of Neal Group Construction, LLC and his wife, Carolina, are pioneers in the revitalization of downtown, Joplin, Missouri. At the end of his address, using the poem 'Road not Taken' by Robert Frost, Prof Moomaw made a very inspiring call to all Fletcher graduates: "Now go, travel your own roads and make a Fletcher difference." I watched the ceremony video at my house in Joplin, Missouri. At the time I was finishing my classes for the GMAP program and writing my thesis under Prof. Moomaw's supervision.
My time at NGC was nothing less than amazing. Being able to witness sustainability first hand, and what it means to the individual was priceless. From being in the office working on LEED Certifications, to tearing down walls in one of their projects, I was able to find out why we as a society are pushing towards a greener future.
