MTI's roots begin with the inception of Wm. McLennan & Co. in 1912. This family-owned and operated construction firm experienced tremendous growth through the 1950s and 1960s, prompting and expansion into real estate and property management services. In 1968, John Thebault joined the organization, by then known as McLennan General Construction Co.
In 1981, Mr. Thebault and Robert G. McLennan (3rd generation) separated from the real estate arm and focused on design and construction management as McLennan & Thebault Inc. (MTI). In 2015, MTI joined Stenstrom Companies, Ltd. as their Construction Management Division. Our focus remains on providing exceptional service to all of our clients.

MTI completed the renovation and remodeling of the Vernon Hills Police Department located at 740 and 754 Lakeside Parkway in Vernon Hills, Illinois in 2015. Construction included demolition, renovation and an addition to the existing 20,000 square foot 754 police building, providing new offices, evidence storage, roll call and lounge areas, upgrading HVAC-RTU systems &.
Nestled within the native landscape of the Greenbelt Forest Preserve between North Chicago and Waukegan, the Cultural Center's location offers panoramic views and convenient access from Green Bay Road. The 7,000-square-foot building, outdoor amphitheater, and stage are utilized for various facility events for the Lake County Forest Preserve.
MTI's preconstruction services include the architectural services for the project. The project scope included the interior remodeling of the existing industrial building, conversion of existing office and warehouse space to manufacturing, the installation of 2 new restrooms, the installation of lighting fixtures and fire protection required due to the owner installation of a warehouse mezzanine.
