I called them because our door spring broke and we couldn't get our cars out. They installed our door years ago. They had a modest call charge and were the only company that could service our door same day. Their service technician said our door was still covered under warranty and all we had to pay was the labor charge. Unfortunately the labor charge was $1700 for installing a hundred dollars worth of free parts. Under the circumstances we really needed to get our cars out so we paid. The service technician did a great job and worked late so we paid and figured we would never use them again

Zach was here within 45 minutes to help with our garage door problem. He did a complete inspection and took a short video to show us our problem. We ended up getting a new opener to eliminate our photo cell problem of direct sunlight messing with the operation. He was very helpful, gave easy to understand information.

Good: very timely, polite and pleasant service reps. Work was done effectively and well.
Not-so-good: They have changed their business sales model recently and now try to upsell things that are really not needed, and at unusually high prices. I have experienced that twice with them recently now at two different homes. Have used Ideal for years at my home and for a rental property, but I will not use them again.

What a horrible company. Terrible customer service. Called as they had installed my opener, but it's new owners, and it's not good anymore. Wanted to charge 99.00 to just look at problem, even though I know it's a spring needs replaced. Oh and if I can find my paperwork, which they didn't keep on file, it's under warranty. I'm going to just pay another respectful company. What a piece of crap place, will be out of business soon.

We recommend Ideal Garage doors. They were on time, very nice, and Janet in scheduling texted a photo of the tech before he arrived (for our security). Workers wore masks, kept distance, yet were friendly and knowledgeable. The 1st tech, Cody, said we need a new garage door (ours is 30 yrs old). He showed us specific issues as to Why a new door was needed. He also showed us an array of choices in a range of costs, no 'hard sell'.

I'm sorry, but this sounds like a scam. I'm sure they do quality work and are good people, they better be at their pricing. I got an estimate to replace my broken spring. Got upsold to replace everything but panels for over $1200, or i could replace my spring only for $700+. I can get a whole new door at Home Depot for those prices. So i paid the service fee and before Ideal left my driveway, i was on the phone with another vendor that confirmed a spring replacement was about $250 and that they'd be here within the hour. I'll see what they charge to overhaul my door as Ideal

Excellent service! Had a special order insulated door INSTALLED for less than 1k not even sure how these guys make a profit. On top of that my contractor went missing in action after he was hired and had to build the garage myself but George with Ideal took extra time to come out of his way on site to tell me how to properly frame so the door would fit perfectly. After I was signed off by inspector gave them a call and were out a day and a half later, smooth installation.

Andy, the owner/manager, is Rude, Dishonest, and INCOMPETENT.
After scheduling a service call, a representative arrived to diagnose my issue. He was very nice and told me I had two options for repair. He tried calling his manager (Andy) to get a quote on my options but Andy never called him back with the information. After waiting for a while on Andy, the tech told me he had to go and would have Andy follow up with me directly. He said if we had to order parts, it had to be done by the next day in order to have my repairs done the following week.

I had a spring break on my garage door and called Ideal Overhead, left a message and was promptly returned a call and had service scheduled for that same day within 3 hours. I was told a price over the phone and that was the price I paid, no surprises, very reasonable rates. The technician that was assigned to me called when he was on his way, got to our house and looked at the spring and replaced both very quickly as a knowledgeable garage door specialist would. I will definitely use Ideal again and recommend them to everyone I can.

I've had a garage door opener for my garage for YEARS. I bought it when I originally bought my house, but had some damage to the garage door shortly after I moved in because the door was not installed correctly (thanks Anozira), but because I forced it shut (It was Christmas Eve and I had places to go!) that voided the warranty. Great.
Well, Mike got tired of waiting for me to get around to getting the job done and called Home Depot (where I bought the opener from) and made arrangements with them to use their installer to come and fix the door and install the opener. Yay!
