Over four decades ago, Stephen B. Ballard laid the foundation for a career in construction on familiar ground: in his own house. Working from home, Stephen and his sister Brenda began S.B. Ballard Construction Company by completing small projects for the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and minor renovations for their neighbors.
At SBBCC, we follow all rules and recommendations from the U.S. Green Building Council and other groups that encourage green practices in construction by using renewable resources when possible to improve a building's performance and keep costs down. We also work within the standards set by LEED to ensure building certification.
