If you have received notice from your Building Department regarding compliance, then the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals has determined that your property(s) must have a Building Safety Inspection performed to comply with Section 109.14 of the Broward County Administrative Provisions for the Florida Building Code.

I scheduled the inspection a couple of weeks in advance. They asked me for all of the information regarding the building well in advance, which I provided. After a couple of weeks from scheduling the appointment, on the day of the inspection, their inspector said that they could not do the inspection on a mixed used building because they are not comfortable with the liability. If this is the case, why schedule the inspection and wait for the last minute to mention it? The county establishes a very tight deadline to be met and owners do not have time to waste.
