At 18 years old, Craig Bruggeman began working as a full-time carpenter in Sarasota; he received his State of Florida Certified General Contractors License in 1989. Craig earned a Bachelor's degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida in 1988. He and his young family returned to Sarasota where he gained experience in commercial contracting and as a Purchasing Manager for Arthur Rutenberg Homes.
Founded in 1998 by Craig Bruggeman, Stout Homes & Remodeling has successfully served Sarasota and Manatee counties for over 20 years. Our team's stalwart dedication to our clients' satisfaction, safety and success has never wavered and never will. Our experience, business ethics and honesty in communication have been our calling cards as much as our high-quality work and commitment to working earnestly, safely and cost effectively on every job.
Built in 1925, this two-bedroom cottage was originally part of a small camp of homes in which Sarasota's early commercial fishermen lived and worked. In 1959, it became a private residence for nearly 54 years. Purchased in 2013, the cottage was transformed into a charming and delightfully decorated professional skin and body care business.

Unfortunately Craig is too ready to bad mouth suppliers even though dealing with him is not a partnership. Nothing is for free with Craig. He may promise but unfortunately the promise is not always achieved. Again, be careful should he decide to promote negative comments!!!

We used Craig with Stout Homes for some extensive remodeling on our home. We cannot say enough how fortunate we have been to have found him. It is good to know when someone has your best interest at heart. We felt confident through out the process that Craig was in control of the situation and it made the remodeling must less stressful for our family. We highly recommend him.

I contacted a number of contractors to provide quotes for the gut renovation of a luxury condo in Longboat Key, Sarasota. From the start of the process, Craig at Stout Homes was professional and transparent.
Craig was very supportive and spent multiple Saturdays and evenings helping us select materials and reviewing the progress of construction. The project included a kitchen and bath rehab, wallpaper removal and painting, hardwood/tile flooring installation, and framing/drywall throughout. The quality of the work allowed me to rent the unit within a few weeks and for a reasonable rate!
