Born in 1929, Raymond Haynes wasn't one for the confines of corporate walls. After serving two terms in the Navy and deciding he'd rather build offices than sit in one, he began odd jobs around New Haven County building decks, replacing roofs and remodeling homes. Joined by his brother Gene and equipped with a few pickup trucks, they built Haynes Construction Company from the ground up.

The customer service was terrible. They lied about having the stone material needed to complete the project, and took weeks to return my phone call to admit that they never had the stone available in the first place and that it will be delivered soon. This delayed our Mason 3 weeks. It has been 4 weeks now and we still have not heard back. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Will not use or recommend.

I came when they opened driving an hour to get there. I needed blue stone tread for a stair, they were out of the size I needed, the guy in charge had a longer piece cut for me on the spot. They saved me as I got the stone for the job just in time. Thank you to whoever the gentleman was in the store area that was in charge that helped me out when I was in that jam. Very grateful, appreciate the great service.

I have used Haynes for several projects (landscaping, patio/walkway materials) over the last four years and have been extremely happy with their services. Their staff (sales people-Jeff-to delivery drivers) are friendly, helpful, and always on time with deliveries. We have also used our own dump truck to pick up stone aggregate and the process of having the materials loaded, weighed, and purchased was quicker than other local stone suppliers. Keep up the amazing work!

I like leaving great reviews and will usually not bother leaving a negative review. The only reason I’m even leaving the review is so there’s information for others who might be in my shoes.
On the positive, everyone I worked with seemed like nice people.
I ordered stone and had it delivered; first time ordering stone from Haynes, but I have extensive experience with building materials deliveries (including quarried stone) from large builder suppliers as well as steel and iron deliveries from metal suppliers. The delivery location is 20 minutes away from the Haynes quarry and I purchased

Ordered some upper delaware rounds through Jackie Dibble for delivery. She was so accommodating and knowlegable on the different types of stone. I also worked with Matt Dibble who was able to arrange for delivery from the Deep River facility which is closer to my home. He was so kind to show me what the stone in stock looked like prior to delivery! So happy that I then went to pick up more and continued to have a good experience with another Matt at the Deep River location. He informed me their current stock of upper delawares were slightly different in size from what was delivered to my house
