Finally, after more than 2 years of dealing with this "contractor" (and I use that term loosely), my husband took over and was able to complete the job...for what the original estimate was, which is a lot less (more than half) than what SSC said the actual costs would be.
23k for framing turned into "49k and counting."
8 k for electrical became 24k.

Southern Shores did an interior renovation, providing us with a 4th bedroom and full bathroom along with light and fan installs in other parts of our home. Quality of work was excellent and they were very easy to work with. Cost of Reno was as anticipated as was the timeline. We renovated our newly purchased home extensively, adding new impact windows and doors in several areas, raising one room's ceiling and raising another room's interior ceiling and installing a new exterior roof above it. We had extensive interior and exterior electrical work done. We remodeled an interior bathroom completely with re-routed plumbing and all new plumbing fixtures, including new tile flooring. The entire exterior and most of the interior of the home was repainted. Southern Shores Construction and its hands-on GC and principal, Lenny Mucci, worked the job professionally and competently
