We hired Skylar to paint our unfinished cabinets. He brought them back and they clearly needed more paint. You could see the natural wood through the paint. We asked him to repaint them . I offered to buy more paint. He said no because of labor. When questioned he said are you going to sue me. Unfortunately, we are out 1100 bucks. He clearly didn't know how to paint cabinets. The contract we signed said there would be a clear coat and there wasn't. We never questioned the paint used since we requested Sherman Williams. We are questioning the work. Met Skylar in 2017. He was quick to reply, offered a fair price and seemed quite knowledgeable. For that job, I ended up going with family, to be agreeable. But man, big mistake! Should've gone with my gut and worked with Ohana Hale. So, next time around, called Skylar and scheduled him to work right away. Great attention to detail, checked in and sent me pictures regularly (since I ended up being off-island towards the end); and everything worked out well. Will work with him again on any other painting/remodel needs!!

Skylar is efficient and trustworthy with his paint-related work. Having a contractor who is able to discuss terms, understand requirements (including AOAO/building restrictions), is reliable and considerate is important.
We enlisted Skylar to help us with our home and were pleased with the results. We did purchase our own paint in order to choose a specific color but understood that it's an option to have it purchased on our behalf. All itemized receipts we're provided. We had someone start a closet and left it undone. More than undone, no rod, no doors, mud incomplete, no paint, etc. Skylar can in and fixed it all. He also rectified a horrible prior repair on a door (unfinished, door knob too high and lock not functional) and made it look as if it was originally part of the house. We are more than happy with all the work he's done for us.

I posted a five star review for Skylar back in March after he painted the interior of our house. We were impressed with the quality of his work and his honest approach. I unfortunately have to change my rating however, given how deeply disappointed we are in our dealings (or lack thereof) with him over the past few months. We paid in full despite the fact that the work was unfinished as he promised to return to do all of the finishing touches after carpets were installed in the house. I called Skylar for an estimate to paint our small condo. The appointment was confirmed for Sunday at 9:30a.m. I texted him at 9 and again at 9:40. He texted back at 9:45 saying he was very sorry that he forgot about the appointment. Things happen, fine. I was willing to wait a little bit thinking he would take 15-20 minutes more. He didn't show up till 10:25 --an hour late with his Starbucks dripping on my floor. He took a look at the place and said he'll send us the estimate. And of course I got nothing. Checked the spam folder too. I would've been fine if he told me to my face

Emailed Ohana Hale Painting via Yelp. Skylar responded quickly and gave me a quote based on the pictures I sent him. We had scheduled for this past Tuesday afternoon, but he canceled a few hours prior due to an emergency. I was not happy given I have a deadline to meet. However, he reassured me that he can come the next day. He did and he did a FANTASTIC job patching up my bathroom in the sink plumbing areas in about 2 hours. This is for my master bedroom and a second bathroom in my house which I'm renovating. New cabinets would go in front the drywall, thus the rough dry wall finish

Skylar did an amazing job on our extensive office remodel. He completed a number of services for us including drywall repair, painting, flooring, etc. As with any project like this, there were a number of obstacles to overcome and Skylar found a way to work through each one. He also was very flexible and worked around materials being delivered from the mainland. He obviously is skilled in what he does and you can tell that he brings passion to his craft. Came across Skylar from Ohana because I needed my condo repainted. Hired him, he did an excellent job especially because the painting had a lot of meticulous details that were time consuming and he did such an amazing job that I hired him back to install a range and some electrical outlets. I found Ohana Hale Painting through a Craigslist ad, and I was kind of skeptical in the beginning since, hey it's Craigslist, but I was wowed by the service I received!
Skylar has great knowledge about what paints to use for each room. I chose three different colors for my home and he and his workers did a fantastic job! I chose neutral colors since I wanted a classic look and he totally hit a homerun impressing me with a fantastic paint job, plus going beyond what I asked for and even fixed some holes in the wall and repairing some shelving I had that got damaged from another contractor

Skylar did some remodeling in my home. He painted and sanded the cupboards a nice dark chocolate brown, did some painting, built and designed frames for our bathroom mirrors, put up some cool backsplash, all in a professional reasonably priced, speedy manor, he is also very trustworthy. You will be happy with the work that Skylar does for you.
