The Rental Works story began in Richmond Virginia in the fall of 1986. Rental Works has provided high quality, well maintained rental equipment for nearly three decades to both Contractors as well as Home Owner "Do It Yourself" clients. Beyond equipment, the top priority has always been about people and relationships.
The Rental Works motto reads "We will treat our Team Members, our Clients, and our Suppliers as we ourselves would like to be treated." In today's business environment which is dominated by large national chains, Rental Works remains locally owned, operated, and very involved in serving its community.
Our Leadership has over 100 years experience in Rental, Financial Services, Equipment Maintenance/Readiness, Operations, Risk Management and Commercial/Residential Development. Our vision is: "We want to satisfy all our customers' equipment needs and help them to succeed." Our mission has nothing to do with transactions, pushing equipment or getting bigger for the sake of bigness.

Services
At Rental Works, we firmly believe that our employees drive the success of the company. With success in mind as the ultimate goal, we strive to create and provide an environment that offers challenging, stimulating and financially rewarding opportunities. Join us and discover a work experience where diverse ideas are met with enthusiasm, and where you can learn and grow to your full potential.
Safety is always job one on every work site. Most accidents or equipment damage happens when operators overlook important safety precautions or don't fully understand how to operate equipment. That's why Rental Works has partnered with Genie and offers a standardized aerials or telehandler training package to our clients, to help operators stay safe and fleet owners reduce their repair costs.
All customers are required to have a current Virginia Drivers license on hand at the time of rental. Rented equipment is the responsibility of the customer until it is returned and accepted by an employee of Rental Works. In the case that the equipment is lost or damaged in any way, the customer will be charged the full replacement or repair cost in addition to the rental cost.

Stay away! Their tools are poorly-maintained and likely to fail. Take a look at some photos below of the tile saw I rented this week. It went back due to worn bearings among many other issues. I prefer to shop local and I have given this shop two tries to earn my business. They failed both times. They are polite and their prices are competitive but they do not take care of their equipment. And the store manager of the West Broad shop thinks that refunding your rental cost wipes the slate clean, no matter the time and trouble you take to try and get their equipment to work. I’d show you a picture

Rental Works saved the day for me. I had lost the keys to my storage lockers in our condo building in downtown Richmond. Mind you, I have four separate storage cages with four different padlocks for them. I tried cutting the locks off with a small hacksaw with no luck. Next I tried a small bolt cutter borrowed from a neighbor... nada! I then "yelped" "tool rental" and up popped Rental Works conveniently located on W Broad St just off I-64W. Called them, they answered immediately (this is Saturday morning mind you), and found they had a heavy duty bolt cutter with 36 inch

I've been using Rental Works on West Broad for years. They always have what I need for the job at hand , the equipment is quality and the price is right. I had just recently needed some scaffolding for work 2 counties over. But it was no problem to make the drive to Rental Works in the West End of Richmond for my equipment needs!

Came here needing a 40ft ladder. Was able to rent one no problem and with a cash deposit vs a card. Made a reservation easily on Friday and picked it up no issue Monday morning. Thought the staff was friendly and eager to get me taken care of. Even loaned me 2 ratchet straps to secure the ladder. Miles was the employee who assisted with getting the ladder i rented on and off my truck. Definitely will use them in the future and am happy to support a small business. Also, ladder was solid and a quality product. They do not rent out cheap tools or worn machines. From what I experienced, everything
