Brown Design Studio was formed with the intent of assisting with the design and implementation of quality traditional architecture and urbanism projects. Based out of historic downtown Savannah, Georgia, we bring a strong understanding of historic urbanism and walkable communities.

Our studio offers a variety of design services to our residential clients, catering to a variety of needs. Our clients range from builders and developers to full custom homes. Our approach is to be flexible and help the client and design team put together the best course of action & level of service that makes the most sense for everyone.
Multi-family is a core project type for Brown Design Studio. It is our goal to bring dignified housing choices to the market, at all price points for all lifestyles. Many times projects will try to put the multi-family only on the lower end of the market. Our experience is that you need both affordable rentals and higher end choices in most markets, in order to establish and expand a diverse, sustainable community.
Architecture and landscape design should grow from local climate, topography, history, and building practice. Civic buildings and public gathering places require important sites to reinforce community identity and the culture of democracy. They deserve distinctive form, because their role is different from that of other buildings and places that constitute the fabric of the city.
For the past 19 years, Brown Design Studio has preserved many historic buildings, while earning respect and recognition in all aspects of preservation, rehabilitation and compatible new construction within historic districts. Brown Design has earned professional design awards over the years and it has earned us the natural recognition and credibility.
