It was the most disappointing experience of my life. We bought an O'Neil Ford home and were so excited to be working with Mr Grable but it is now 4 years later and our home is in shambles. We renovated the guest house first so we could live in it while the main house was renovated but the roof has been leaking for the last two years and now mold is growing. I have had my "punchlist" going for two years on 750 square feet. The paint is bubbling on the ceiling with the flat roof and no one cares. He terminated our engineer without telling us when we terminated Mr Grable. He insisted I use a pool

I've been working with John Grable Architects for over a year rebuilding my Alamo Heights family home after it burned. We have been living with the piece of functional art that JGA created for us for about five years now. John and his team were the perfect match for our team. We had an owner who as a child drew working drawings of houses for his mother to live in, whose father is an architect, whose mother is an interior designer, and whose stepfather used to build custom homes. Not an easy job to mesh all these talents and egos and still be on speaking terms at the end. But John, Matt and the rest of the crew did so masterfully. Best architect in South Texas-- especially if you want to preserve or renovate an existing mid-century the right way. Detail-conscious designs that actually looked like how they were described on paper. On new-builds, hire him NOW, because just like these O'Neil Ford properties, Grable-designed properties will have a cult following someday when he's gone.

It all started with a desire for a screen porch. It ended with 85% of the front of our house removed and a glass jewel box attached. Our living area was transformed from a lovely, intimate private space to a lovely, intimate open and spacious space. The dramatic landscape of our unique area was beautifully invited inside. Agree with other 5 star reviews, and want to add that John Grable's work increases the value of the entire neighborhood. As a property manager, I've seen the value of properties next to or near John Grable's projects goes UP (along with rents), following his jobs. If you want something designed special, call John Grable.

I’ve been working with John Grable and his team for the past 18 months to resurrect our unique Cy Wagner designed family home built in ‘67. They have been supportive and sensitive to the emotional situation and are respecting the bones of the master while bringing it back to life in a modern world.

The designs have always been top-notch, and Johns ability to work with the Construction Crews and Contractors always results in a great value to the home owners and a high quality product! If zero was an option I would give them zero stars. My experience was a nightmare. I bought an O'Neil Ford home in Terrell Hills and hired Grable because supposedly he's an expert on O'Neil Ford. I quickly learned that everything was about his massive ego and sadly most of the advice he gave us was terrible. He told us to waive inspection on our house which turned out to be a terrible mistake. We lived with fire danger and had to relocate immediately when we found out the beams in the roof were destroyed by termites 30 years ago. Rats had eaten the electrical and live wires were

Wow! Words can't describe how amazing our home is because of John, Matt, Javier and Crystal at John Grable Architects.
