In 1979, Kenny Dodd began setting water meters for the county water department, where he was later hired as manager. He expanded his business to septic tank and field line installation and then later added backhoe and trenching work, dirt work services, land clearing and building roads. During the early years of Dodd Construction, dynamite was frequently used for demolition projects.
Some of the company's more widely known projects include the ground work for the ROC (Recreational Outreach Center), the groundwork for Centre Elementary School, an addition to the Centre Motel, and the groundwork for Danny's Builders Supply in Centre. Dodd Construction also assisted with the groundwork for KTH in Leesburg.
His son, Kody, was raised up in the business that he would one day take over. Since Kenny's death in 2015, Kody continues to provide the same services that his father built a great reputation for. Since he took over, the company has assisted with the groundwork for Cherokee Community Dialysis Center and Tractor Supply Company.

A neighbor recommended Dodd Construction, so we asked them to make a bid for our kitchen remodel. Doug had lots of great ideas and his bid was competitive, so we hired him. We have no regrets. His team was easy to work with and focused on quality. His crew always showed up on time and put in a full day. He overdelivered and exceeded our expectations. We’d hire Dodd Construction again.

We hired Doug Dodd and his team of experts to remodel our Guest Bath and Master bath. The guest bath was just an update with new tub, flooring, and tile.
The master bath was a complete remodel... taking walls out, installing a new wall and door where pony wall previously existed. Redoing the plumbing and electrical to install/relocate a double vanity, medicine caps and lights. Also involved swapping where the previous shower and toilet were located resulting in the need to reconfigure the stack.
It also involved removing popcorn ceilings and retexturing/painting the entire space.

The guys at Dodd Construction did an excellent job under my patio, which needed to be repaired. Riley fixed a railing in the house that had come loose. I stumbled upon Doug and his team via Nextdoor as others in my area had used his services in the past for a similar project. Doug and his team were very professional, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable. They worked long hours and weekends to finish the project. Dodd Construction did a fantastic job on our basement remodel. We will most certainly use them again. We received bids from several companies and it was Dodd that listened to what we wanted. Dodd construction just finished our basement and we are thrilled with how it turned out - especially the custom barn door. Doug, the owner, was reliable, hard working, and had excellent communication throughout the process. He helped achieve our vision for our new space while working within our budget. Dodd Construction just finished another project for me. They originally completed my master bath remodel last spring, I was impressed with their work so hired them again this summer to revamp my living room fireplace as well as numerous other improvements including painting my kitchen, replacing all my interior doors as well as changing out all of my electrical sockets and light switches. Since I have numerous home improvements I want to do Mr. Dodd worked with me to figure out which improvements fit within my current budget. I will definitely hire them again when I decide to complete my next round
