Askew Nixon Ferguson Architects
Over 40 years ago, ANF Architects was founded by Lee Askew III, a native Memphian. Working closely with FedEx and other Memphis corporate clients, Lee found a way to keep his clients happy: listen closely, understand the key issues, and then use innovative design to resolve the issues in their new facility and, of course, monitor the work progress to be sure that their new facility was cost effective, easily maintained, and value based.

This business practice has served ANF, and our clients, very well ever since. During the past 40+ years, ANF has grown to as many as 45 people and added services including Master Planning, Interior Design, Construction Management, Scheduling and Cost estimating. On staff, ANF now has 11 LEED accredited professionals and a Virtual Reality Studio.

ANF is a leader in this region in Sustainable Design, Facility Assessments, Building Information Management (BIM), Adaptive Reuse, and Fast-track Construction. But we are most proud of our commitment to the Memphis community.
Services
Lee, a founder of Askew Nixon Ferguson (ANF) Architects, is a native Memphian, class of 61 at Central High School, Eagle Scout, graduate of Tulane University, and former student at the Architectural Association in London. After serving for two years aboard the USS Enterprise, he worked in Sydney, Australia for two years before returning to the United States.
Joe joined ANF in 1984 and has since worked on projects ranging from corporate headquarters to medical facilities to churches. He is intrigued by the latest high-tech gadgets and is a believer in technology, but also acknowledges it can be a thorn in the side at times. Joe understands that technology enhances the design process, but that design concepts begin with an idea and a pencil.
Dan Garrigan was born and raised on a farm in northwest Tennessee. He graduated from Obion County Central High School in Troy, Tennessee in 1969 and the University of Tennessee, School of Architecture in 1974. A license to practice architecture in Tennessee was granted in 1978.
Rebecca, a principal and lifelong Memphian, joined ANF in 1989 after graduating from Auburn University. She oversees the design and management of a broad range of project types but has a passion for educational and senior living projects. She's always striving to create environments for her clients that are innovative, purposeful, and inspiring.
Jim joined the firm in 1984 while a student at the University of Memphis architectural program. He now serves as the IT manager for the firm's networked systems and continues to work on specialty projects. In 2007, Jim was promoted to Associate, and in 2013 he became a licensed architect.
