Though I've owned and operated Fort Wayne Door successfully for 35 years, I got my start as a technician climbing telephone poles for GTE. After several years and a string of mergers and takeovers, I started thinking it was time for a change. I was only 25 and about to get married - way back in 1984 - when a friend offered to sell me his garage door company.

The spring broke on our garage door. I called Fort Wayne Door and the had a repairman to our house in less the one hour! Their rep, Mark, was outstanding. He replaced the spring, oiled all the fittings, and checked the motor and track. Service and timing where great. Would give them more than five stars , if possible. Thank you FWD!!

Fort Wayne Door was outstanding. I called with concerns over what my garage door was doing and they were in my garage fixing it the next day. They kept the line of communication open, and the price was entirely fair. This is the first time I've ever contacted these guys, but I think it won't be the last.

Bought a garage door from them a few years ago when I accidentally backed into our existing door, causing damage. They were great, timely and professional, so I didn’t hesitate to call them today when our springs on our garage door opener broke. They sent someone out within a few hours and repaired/replaced our issue in a timely fashion for a fair price. Highly recommended.

On a referral I connected with Fort Wayne door for the first time in 1988. I purchased four commercial doors for a business leasing property we owned and was very pleased with the entire experience. As a contractor I have continued to use Fort Wayne Door multiple times and have referred them to my customers many times also. Over the last 43 years every experience with FWD has been very positive. In 2009 they replaced the 16 foot door in our home. Another excellent experience! On June 4, 2021 I remodeled the 16 foot opening, reducing it down for a 12 foot door and added a man door. I ordered my garage door on August 3 and was told it would take 3 to 5 weeks to have it installed because of Covid. When I hadn't heard from them after 4 1/2 weeks I called and was assured my door would be installed that week or the following week. Four weeks later I still had not heard from them so I called again and the gentleman just kept saying COVID-19. Another week past and I never heard a word so I canceled my order. I called another company and had a door installed in eight days.

Told me they would try and make it on Friday to repair my door. No promise made and they didn't make it so said they would be out to fix it on Monday. After waiting all afternoon they called to say they wouldn't make it at all. Needless to say I will use someone else. No follow through and poor communication.

I called Fort Wayne Door yesterday because my garage door wouldn't open more than a foot. I scheduled for them to come out this morning. They called when they were on their way. Both men were polite, pleasant, and repaired my door (a broken spring) in a timely manner. My late husband and I have used FW Door in the past and were always pleased. Charges were reasonable.
