Not sure where to start with your project? Let Stoney Hollow take the reigns with a landscape solution that's unique, original, and pleasing to the eye. We're a creative based landscape contractor. That means we take an on-site design approach to landscape design. Out of the thousands of satisfied clients we've had the pleasure of working with in 46 years, only a handful had received a landscape plan.
Stoney Hollow was founded by Ed Hartman in 1973. Growing up just outside of Pittsburgh in 1950's Etna, Ed spent all of his time outside. He spent his childhood building ponds, dams, streams, and walls in the woods behind his childhood home. Ed's mother, Zedora, taught him how to build walls by helping him build a small stone wall at the end of their drive.
Stoney Hollow believes true beauty lives in nature. That's why we only use naturally occurring products in our projects. From patios to walls, patios to fireplaces, waterfalls to stone arbors -- we only use natural stone! Shawn & crew did a great job with our backyard. It was overgrown and a disaster but they came in, developed a plan, and threw a lot of really big rocks at it; now, it looks really nice. Wasn't sure what to expect but perfectly happy with how it all turned out. Plus, not only are we happy with it but we've gotten nothing but compliments from friends and neighbors.

Update 1 year later - the french drain they installed didnt work properly & they left us high and dry when we reached back out to get it fixed. There were also some shrubs that didnt take to the new landscape. They initially told us they would replace anything that didnt take, but again, they never responded to our calls/texts about getting them replaced. We ended up replacing them ourselves.

Unbelievable work. Very lucky that they were willing to travel to Beaver County to work at my house. Shawn's knowledge and vision were impressive right from the start! And the final product turned out amazing!
They don't do anything ordinary. Awesome ideas, interesting plants that you don't see everywhere else, and quality work. They never rush and ask for your opinion along the way. The pictures I posted don't do the work justice! Those are some HUGE rocks. Fun to watch them work. Shawn and his dad are very personable and great to work with. They have a great crew too! I can't recommend them

Shawn and his team with Stoney Hollow Nursery Did a phenomenal job with the landscape! The work is very high-quality and is a one-of-a-kind landscape that We can enjoy For years to come! Living in the area I admired their work on many occasions. Contacted Shawn in March of 2014 and he seemed very receptive to my small projects. To make a long story short, after his initial visit, my trip to the nursery to look at plant material, many more phone calls, assurances and excuses, he has never contacted me with a specific date. I have given up on his company and will find someone else. If you are not planning a 10k project and sign a contract don't even bother to contact him. Apparently this company has no interest in it's local small scale projects.

This is Truly Art, Working w/the earth & the arrangements & ideas r just breathtaking, if ur fortunate to see some of Edwin's personal pieces, u will see, he is a master at his craft. And Shawn (son) is right behind him carrying on these masterpieces.
