Tim is the founder of Arbormax and has a black belt in removing trees. He is the Chuck Norris of Arboriculture and there is no better crane operator around. He holds the rare and distinguished title of Board Certified Master Arborist as well as Tree Care Safety Professional. In his free time, Tim enjoys rugby, coaching youth football and spending time with his 5 amazing kids.
Here at Arbormax tree service we truly specialize in everything tree related. Some tree services are tree removal specialists and some specialize in tree trimming while others just want to provide tree fertilization. Nothing makes a father prouder than seeing his son follow in his footsteps. We are very proud to say that our family has been rooted in the tree service industry for 4 generations. Fifty years ago my grandfather began teaching my father what he knew about trees. From the time I was a small boy my father has taught me the knowledge that was passed on to him as well as the skills that he had acquired through the years.
Our chipper trucks are the workhorses of the fleet. They dispose of all the material from the job sites, excluding the logs large enough to take to the mills. Chainsaws are the most important tools in our arsenal. There are two types of modern chainsaws. One being a top handled or climbing saw. This saw is lightweight, compact and specifically designed to remained balanced with little effort.
Since the first tree set its roots billions of years ago they have evolved and adapted to grow in forested environments where nutrients are abundant and stress is limited. So naturally they have a hard time acclimating to our urban environments and the stresses we put on them. In a forest, decomposing leaves and fallen twigs supply the tree with essential nutrients and unneeded braches are pruned off by Mother Nature.

The best tree removal service in Raleigh! I received an estimate from them on Thursday for the removal of a large oak tree that was struck by lightning. The estimate for the tree removal was $1000 cheaper than the closest estimate provided by other tree services. I agreed and Tim scheduled the project for two days later. They came in on a Saturday! Every other tree company was two weeks out and wanted to charge extra for Saturday projects. The crew arrived early. I watched them conduct a safety meeting and job plan. Quoted for between 10 and 11 trees on our property. We have a very steep hill, so one of the trees was a stretch goal due to the location just behind the corner of the house.
It did take a couple days to complete the quoted job, but overall we are very happy with the results. The guys working on site showed up on time and did a great job cleaning up after both days. Overall good experience and I would recommend them for any difficult or awkward jobs.

I am very pleased with ArborMax Tree Service for the cutting and removal of six mature tress in my backyard. This morning I received a phone from the ArborMax owner explaining that because it had rained in the early morning hours and as a result the soil would be wet my lawn could possibly be damaged as a result of the heavy equipment required to do the work. Brandon, the owner, gave me the opportunity to postpone this work or accept the risk of damage. I elected to accept this risk and am happy that I did.

They removed a huge oak tree that was hollow and rotting inside, and headed toward my house or a neighbor's. A swat team of 10 workers in 6
vehicles using a 35 ton crane, bob cat, shredder, chainsaws made quick work of removal. they used the crane to lift sections up and out to the street for disassembly. very impressive. they cleaned up with rakes and blowers and our 3 lane street was never completely blocked to traffic up into our cul de sac. highly recommend. (and they were priced about 2/3 the quote from our regular maintenance arborists).

I have been experiencing the same issues that the last few reviews have posted. It took over 2 months for Arbormax to show up and remove several trees from my yard. During the removal the wood chipper broke 4 times in the morning before it finally was unusable by the crew around 1p. The rest of the day they had to remove large sections of tree trunks by hand into multiple trucks. I felt really bad for the crew. They worked really hard to get everything done, no complaints there. Very professional. The guy who did the estimate even pointed out an issue with a very close neighbors tree that we didn't even know about that could have potentially caused lots of damage to our house. They did a wonderful job removing overhanging branches and cutting down a tree. They cleaned up and left the area better than it was before they even got there. Highly recommend them.

I recently had Arbormax remove a large pine tree from my front yard. Their quote was lower than about five other tree companies I consulted.
The work was done well-- no complaints there.
Three stars because of the following issues:
-- The stump grinding took over a week and 3 missed appointments before it was completed. During this time, nobody communicated with me about why the stump grinding was delayed.
--During the tree removal, a spot of my lawn about 6 feet square was destroyed, with several tree branches about 5 inches in diameter left sticking out of the ground and embedded so deeply

I cannot say enough about this wonderful company. We had them trim a bunch of very large limbs from some pretty tall trees in our yard. Their estimate was literally HALF the cost of another companies. They were polite, professional, and prompt. The only tiny negative is that they are not as responsive via email, by phone is by far the best way to reach them. I have and will continue to recommend Arbormax to anyone and everyone I know.

These guys were awesome! When Tim came out to estimate the work, he said they were the best - and he was right. It was a huge job that required a crane to remove 10+ giant pines and several nuisance trees. A crane in your yard and trees being hoisted over your house can be a little scary! This group worked together with such precision and teamwork - it was quite impressive! Highly recommended!

During the last ice storm nightmare, we had some real damage to trees that fell and destroyed fences and ended up on various neighbors' properties. From branches caught up in higher trees to a tree that split in half at the base, it was a mess.
