Tony Wendland has been dedicated to the tree care industry since he received his degree in Landscape and Turf Management from Kansas State University in 2004.

We had tree stumps removed quickly and professionally by a friendly crew. I'm not impressed with the responsiveness to messages. It took months to pay an invoice after leaving several messages with a live person (their answering service) requesting to pay by credit card. When I did receive a call back, I was treated as if I must have done something wrong or called the wrong number on the previous attempts. No friendliness in tone, no thank you for your business or payment. Customer service matters whether you're scheduling appointments, performing the work, or handling the invoice process

We've been using Urban Tree Specialists for years to help maintain and address problems with our trees and shrubs. Nick has a wealth of knowledge about native plants and trees and is extremely thorough whenever he does a walkthrough of our property. Whenever we get a quote for work, we always get valuable advice for the maintenance and protection of our other tree and plant life.

We used them back in January 2020 to remove an Ash and grind the stump. The initial estimate with Nick went well. The follow through was poor. I had to seek them out a handful of times to make sure they were still able to come. Once the team came to remove the tree the team lead asked if we wanted to grind the stump. I said yes and that it was in the estimate. He then corrected to say it is an “option” and the price for the option was not included in the line item. The team lead had Nick contact me about the “confusion” on the estimate. Nick managed to finagle me to pay for 1/2 of what

The owner, Bret, came to my house within just a few days of making an appointment to give me a bid. He’s a very friendly person and definitely knows everything there is about trees, shrubs, bushes, etc. Any question I had, he was able to answer immediately in terms someone who isn’t and arborists can understand. He also looked up different options for trees and shrubs that I could plant based on my property and soil while he was here and gave me a very detailed & fair quote for the job. I also received a follow up email with the quote and have scheduled their services as I have known people

Urban Tree has treated my Green Ash 2 or 3 times (2 yr schedule) and that work has been fine. My issue is I've asked for estimates for trimming in the past and multiple times I've called asking for a return call to discuss an issue with no response. Their lack of communication is my reason for leaving their service. The service I'm moving to is slightly less in cost and based upon my calls to them I can already tell they will be much better communicators. I don't know if UTS is way too busy or just disorganized, but when customers call they deserve call backs and follow up.

Nick Goergen and his crew, from Urban Tree Specialists, just completed the huge undertaking of cutting down, trimming, removing, and cleaning up over 120 dead, diseased, and stressed trees in the Stonebridge Court Wetlands.
Nick and a dozen trained tree experts spent the better part of three full days on site. The job was so enormous that in order to avoid permanent damage to the wetlands, Nick brought in a 50-ton crane to haul away debris from downhill areas safely up to street level for removal.
Some neighbors brought coffee and donuts to Nick's crew each morning and his entire crew were professional

Truly the best tree company around. Quinton came out and trimmed up some neglected trees on my property. It was like watching an artist. The breadth of knowledge this guy has in regards to safe climbing, limb removal, pruning, knots, and just general arbor work was fantastic!
These guys really love their job and they love trees too, not in a weird hippy way, but in a professional that's passionate about their career way.

I am so happy to have found Urban Tree Specialists. Our hicks yews that we use as a privacy fence were looking sick. Nick came out to figure out what was going on with them. I could tell right away but he was very knowledgeable about trees and plants, and when he pulled out a magnifying glass I knew he meant business! I have never had someone care about my plants as much as Nick did. Thank you! He also evaluated some of our trees and presented us with some options for them. We look forward to working with this company from now on!

I've used Urban Tree Specialists several times in the past five years to clear dead trees, prune good trees, and to treat some ash trees for emerald ash bore. Unfortunately because of the heavy snow weight in the first big winter storm we experienced I suffered some tree damage. One of the arborists came out and had a proposal to me via email within an hour, and I accepted it immediately. I wanted to get my yard cleaned up. I wasn't hearing back from them. I decided to give them a week to make contact with me and schedule a time because I knew they were super busy. We were in desperate need of some trimming for our HUGE old Oak tree in the back of the house, as well as some general pruning and clean up of other trees. After setting an appointment and meeting with Brett, I felt comfortable with them performing the work. We were communicated with through the entire process, prior to arrival to set the date, and after the job was complete to tell us everything that happened. The job was first class all the way. Couldn't even tell the work had been done they did such a good job cleaning up. The trees and yard look great now and we couldn't be happier. Thanks

Overall very satisfied with the service we received. The crew was very organized and efficient at trimming our trees. We would definitely use them again! They also have the most competitive pricing based on the other tree trimming companies we got quotes from. One con is that you have to be persistent and patient about scheduling an appointment, which is why I'm giving them four stars.

The owner came and gave us a quote when we were first thinking about trimming the trees on the property and returned a year later when we were ready to get serious. He asked us what our goals were in regards to privacy and maintenance and then discussed each tree with us before providing an estimate. We appreciated his attentiveness, patience, dedication to detail and knowledge. This outfit has absolutely no regard for the concept of customer service. Made appointment for tree triming based on recommendation of local garden center "Soil Service" and left high and dry after multiple appointments set and broken. Every time an appointment was set and missed and staff would advise a bigger job had come along and I was skipped as a result. Despite promises that I would receive a call back to reschedule the call never came and upon my calling back, a new appointment would be set and then skipped again. Complete failure of a basic business enterprise. Avoid at all cost
