DAS assisted to obtain approvals to convert a former gas station to provide counter service and outdoor seating area. These projects are achieved through coordination with the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). The building will include a mix of one and two bedroom units.
Individual units will be configured to provide abundant day-lighting, views and private balconies. Tenant amenities will include exterior landscaped recreation spaces. The ground floor will contain retail space and be elevated above the base flood elevation. Upper floors will have 21 rental apartments.
A raised exterior plaza will contain a cistern for rainwater harvesting. Solar panels and green plantings will be installed on rooftops. The renovation converted the former offices and television studio of a cable television provider to provide seminar rooms and study areas. Partitions were removed and windows added to increase the sense of openness and day-lighting in educational areas.
