Mid-Cal Construction, Inc. is a privately held California corporation with warehousing and fabrication facilities centrally located in Stockton, CA (in California's Central Valley, east of the San Francisco Bay Area). As marine construction specialists, we are a full service builder of superior quality docks, marinas, piers, seawalls, decks, aluminum gangways, patio covers, and gazebos.
When Teichert Construction needed a marine contractor, they looked to Mid-Cal Construction to provide the expertise. Together, Mid-Cal and Teichert Construction collaborated on a bid for the Contra Costa Water District. The original scope of work called for refurbishment of a 9 year old failing marina located at the Los Vaqueros Reservoir.
Mid-Cal Construction served as the pile driving contractor for the Federal Power Tower Expansion, crossing the San Joaquin Delta near Discovery Bay, California. During the first phase of the project, Mid-Cal served as one of two subcontractors charged with installing piles for the power tower foundations.
When home builders The Hofmann Company began its Miramar Subdivision, a waterfront housing project in Discovery Bay, they wanted to offer homebuyers the unique option of including a deck and dock pre-installed. Since Discovery Bay is a waterfront community, known for its boating, water sports and bass fishing, having a home with a deck and boat dock would be optimal.

We needed to replace our old, wooden gangway with something that was safer for pets and kids. Mid-Cal installed something amazing that we absolutely love at a competitive cost. My neighbors installed gangways at a price slightly less (maybe around 15%) but the quality is much less.
Installation days were done professionally, on time, and minor one-off requests were handled well and without question. Great service for what is really tough work!
How happy are we? We will be back for dock replacement.

We had a dock and gangway installed about a year ago. The dock and gangway are beautifully done. However, the customer service at Mid-Cal is sorely deficient. About six months ago we reported a leak at our spigot on our dock. They came out and fixed the leak, but stripped the threads on the screws where it attaches to the light pole on the dock. We have called repeatedly over the last six months and have been told over and over they will be out "next week" to repair it and have never come. Too bad. We've recommended them for the beautiful dock but can no longer give any further recommendations

I had brock dock installation done in 2000. During the last couple of years, I experience rust spreading through the brock material. I tried different products without a solution. I contact Mid-Cal for support with brock product. Mid-Cal tried various times to get a hold of a brock representative to email or call me. I never received a solution or acknowledgement of problem from Mid-Cal or Brock. I move on for other support on the internet.

Really happy with their workmanship and crew. They assisted us in designing the dock and gangway that was best for our site. Several options were discussed and the one we ultimately settled on actually saved us some money which is always a plus. This company is busy but we were willing to wait and are very happy that we did. When we did get on the schedule they were here when they said. Thanks for a beautiful job.
