Moana nursery is one of only a few local plant nursery's in town. They have a decent selection of plants here, they can be a little pricey IMO but they do run great sales in the off-season. Right now for example, they have a 40% off sale all outdoor plants! I scored a bunch of great shrubs and two trees. All looked pretty healthy, some will need a little extra care when planted as they looked stressed. The staff are friendly. Also they have Halloween pumpkins for sale, Moana grown, and cheapest price in town. Only $1.99 per pumpkin!!

Lower your expectations. It's a tough labor market out there and wow you can really see the impact. I get the sense that employees are overworked and burnt out. What used to be a friendly, helpful, local option is now just basically local. So run in if your mid-project and need something, but stay away if you're expecting any sort of assistance to justify the up charge. With demand surging right now I guess they can afford to lose out on sales to the big box stores or online.

This place saved the day last week for my moms birthday. After striking out twice at the Moana Nursery (which was great but more of a gardener's paradise) closest to my apartment and the florist down the street from it (that only had arrangements made to order in advance). I realized it might've been a taller order than I thought to find a fresh flower arrangement.
And I'm getting older you know, I really wanna do things right and show my mom love and appreciation and thoughtfulness on her birthday, so I really didn't wanna pick up flowers at the grocery store. I wanted to

I went into Moana Nursery today to pick up 3 plants. I was in a hurry, so I asked someone to help me find what I was looking for. I got the help that I needed finding the items. 2 of the plants were a bit wilted and the guy told me to ask for a discount at the cashier. I grabbed what I was there for and was heading out in just a couple of minutes. That's where things went bad. There were 2 women at the cash register and one off shift employee. They were chatting. The off duty person left when I got there. The other 2 kept chatting for a minute before one turned to help me. I told her that

We hired Moana in 2018 to fix drainage problems in our yard. Since most of the yard was going to get torn up, we also decided to convert to a xeriscape and add a front patio. We chose Moana after soliciting bids from four local firms. We got four different proposals for the new drainage system. Only Moana could explain why their proposal should work. The other businesses basically said, "trust us". But that was at my own risk and I've been around long enough to know better. Granted, Moana's was the most expensive solution. But, a "solution" that doesn't fix the

A little disappointed that the cashier made me believe that the mojito calocasia bulb I bought was viable. It was completely spongy and desiccated throughout the entire bulb. There is no firmness at all so it is completely DEAD. I can't return it neither because I am not local...and a $20 bulb is NOT exactly cheap.

My advise....if you aren't sure then don't give advice. Ask someone else who has expertise on the matter...and next time just say "I don't know"

Moana Nursery offers a very nice selection of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs. There were plenty of staff available to answer any questions I had, and they had a nice selection of gardening tools, soils, etc inside as well.

I'm so very impressed with this bouquet.I was overwhelmed. Moana has a long standing reputation as a great nursery but it looks like as a florist they are building an even more impressive reputation. This is truly luxurious. The fragrance ,the colors, and design are simply stunning. Everything thing looks very choice both blind and greenery. I will update to let you know how long they remain fresh following usual cut flower standards.

Love this nursery! Not only do they have lots of plants to chose from the florist is absolutely amazing. I have gotten the most beautiful bouquets made from there for an AMAZING price. I will never stop going and supporting this business. For our region they always have tips and tricks and the best plants for the season. Their pumpkins around Halloween were great and trees at Christmas are also beautiful !

Almost 3 weeks ago my husband called Moana Nursery and left a voice mail inquiring about irrigation services. No one ever called us back. So last week I went down in person to tell them no one had ever called us back. They took down my phone # and assured me someone would call us. We still have yet to hear from anyone.

Moana Nursery is the coolest place in Reno--you're shopping but it feels more like a walk in the park. And in the end, it's the staff that makes this place so killer.

Stopped by and fell in love with this cute bug-eating plant, not really realizing how high-maintenance it is (named the little guy Audrey II, by the way). Carried it up to the counter and the staff member, Jeni, was super awesome and gave incredible life-saving tips on how to look after this carnivorous baby. Even offered to give advice down the road if Audrey II starts looking a little gloomy!

Not only is Moan Nursery

Great nursery with tons of selections of indoor and outdoor plants and succulents. Good quality products and most plants are grown on site not shipped from a factory, but it is a little expensive.

This is like a nursery, florist, outdoor deco, gift shop, water fountain, bird food and more shop.

Big parking lot.

They have a little of a wide selection of plants, trees, decorations and items. When it's gone, it's gone for now.

Not too many garden displays or examples/ideas.

In and outdoor shopping.

Large parking lot. They help you out to car if you need it.

While the staff was friendly and the delivery on time, their flower arrangements are expensive and lack artistic design. I am always willing to pay a fair price for a good service or product. I made the mistake of giving this florist a range of $50-$100 and requested yellow flowers. She said OK and informed me that they would be getting a new delivery of flowers in the morning, so there would be lots to choose from. Giving the florist a range is a mistake that cost me dearly. As you can see from the photo, she clearly sent a vase of flowers closer to a $50 value than the $100 I was charged (plus

Moana Nursery has good days and bad days. I will warn all potential customers from using the curbside pickup, as this is definitely a weak spot. First, if you look on the back of your ecommerce receipt, in fine print, there is a notification you must go to the Moana Lane location for will-vall, regardless of which location you were shopping. When Moana calls you to tell you your order is ready, they dont tell you its ready at Moana Lane. When you get to the Moana Lane address for will-call, expect to wait almost an hour for them to bring plants to your car - I could have shopped for them myself

I'm pleased to see how well they are managing to stay open during this pandemic. Their huge marquee sign says "masks are mandatory." All staff are wearing masks, and although the rules were a bit unclear, they did a great job not having a long checkout line by the store entrance. I really appreciated the help I received without my asking. They also had plenty of annuals, perennials and vegetables.

If you are looking for a great selection of indoor plants I think they have the best ones, you will need to bring a mask if you are walking inside, they offer curbside pick up too.

Stay safe and practice social distancing!

Try getting a jingle or a beat in your head. I'm using the Fresh Prince theme. Alright, here we go!

I thought my houseplant was dying and I needed some help.
Then I remembered this review that I'd seen on Yelp.
My plant looked lifeless and droopy, instead of healthy and tall.
So I said what the heck and I gave them a call.
The girl who answered is one of the reasons for this five star review.
After explaining my problem she said "don't worry, bring it on in, and we'll look at it for you!"
So I pulled up to their place around 7 or 8, ok it was actually before 2

I like to shop here to support a local
business and the location is convenient. However the service is usually really slow, and not very knowledgeable. The selections of plants and flowers is hit or miss. The prices are high, which I don't mind, except for the quality is fairly low. Many of the annuals I purchase here die after a week or never really thrive. Just kind of 'hang on' for the summer. I wish this place was better.
