Incredible contemporary furniture store in Indianapolis. High end fashionable furniture and accessories. I have shopped here many times over the years and highly recommend this store. Knowledgeable and friendly staff that spend time with their customers. You usually have to go to Chicago or New York stores to get this level of style and quality.

Brian McIntosh helped us on our very first visit to HouseWorks and could not have been more helpful, thorough and patient with our sofa purchase. The store is beautiful, spacious and has the sleekest modern pieces I've seen in a while. Brian worked with us in figuring out the best option for our space from start to finish - dimensions, configuration, style and color!

*UPDATE*: I've switched my review to '1 star' due to their very poor communication. Once we ordered our sectional in early 2020, we accepted the fact that delays were part of the issue, but our problem had more to do with them completely keeping us out of the loop and only providing updates when we requested. They did not represent us at all against the manufacturer to get our sectional when it had been delayed for several months. The sales rep even told us that he knew the manufacturers rep, but accepted no responsbility for representing us and following up with him at all. Houseworks compensated

When I am looking for something new for my home, I really like that feeling when I first walk through the door, that the place is filled with lots of options and all seem like they could make my life more interesting. Now that I am married, an item needs to pass both my criteria AND my wife's, but even that wasn't a problem at Houseworks! As we explored the showroom, we were greeted by the staff and offered help if we needed anything, otherwise, we were free to browse. My wife was simply looking for a table lamp (which she found) and also a floor lamp. She had in mind what she wanted

First of all this store has a large inventory but it's not overwhelming. Every single item appears to be very high quality and beautiful. We were greeted right away but were not pressured, nevertheless Cathy made herself available and helped us scout the store for a sofa and a side chair. From reading other reviews I knew the store would be fairly high end, but I liked that they didn't hide the prices, be prepared for sticker shock in some cases! Cathy and Dustin were friendly, I mean really nice. I've been to other quality furniture stores where the employees are snooty. Not here. Eventually Cathy

We have been in the store several times throughout the years. In the beginning, it was perusing and wishing we had the money to buy even just one coveted item. We finally made our first purchase from Houseworks around 5 years ago. I have posted a picture of the couch and side table. When I say that I am obsessed with those items, I am not kidding you one bit. That couch and end table are two of three non-negotiable items in my life. Tessi graciously greeted me as I arrived at a store which is new & feels like the best place in Indiana to enjoy the comfort of a Gamma sofa, fashioned in Italy which transported me to feeling as if I'm in a penthouse or posh palace when lounging in the leather sofa
which furnished fabulous support & weightlessness simultaneously.
Tessi spoke of aspects I'd not considered when selecting a gorgeous

What a wonderful store!!!! After 3 months of shopping for living room furniture, my husband and I stopped here to look at a specific line of American-made furniture (Younger) assuming that it would be too far out of our price range. However, we found that the price of the furniture we LOVED at Houseworks cost less than furniture we only "liked" at other stores. We loved how we were welcomed - it felt like a visit to a good friend's house. We greatly appreciated how we were treated - no pressure, very helpful, kind and hospitable employees. We were amazed at the level of respect

As a museum of modern living where you can buy any and all of the items inside the museum, this place is 4-5 stars. If you ignore the prices, the items here are very cool. And if you fall in love with something you can buy it. This place does not and cannot compete directly with Ikea, price-wise.
As a furniture store, this place is probably 2-3 stars. The prices on most of the items are just out of this world. For example, the white plastic chair in the photo I uploaded for $450. I think Walmart sells a variation of it for approximately $10.

I love this store. Everytime I go in I'm welcomed and if I have any questions they can answer it. I love all the comments and " I could have bought at ikea" slams, this store is high end modern/ contemporary furniture at a reasonable price. If you view the designers of the products they sale you would realize what you're buying. If you want quality modern furniture I would come here. They have tons of books that offer a lot more then what they have one display.

I really like this store. I am an interior design student and an avid decorator. I just redid my bedroom, bathroom and living room this year, so I know a little about who has what. There is nowhere in Indy that I know of that you can find classy contemporary furniture all under one roof. I saw a post that their furniture is chintzy; that has not been my experience. And they are willing to deal. I got an extraordinary low-profile espresso media center with a linear fireplace that has a heater for $1200 and I think the tag was $4,000, all because they wanted to move it off the floor. Some

Worst customer service and follow up imaginable. They live by the moto "all sales are final". After taking 6 weeks to deliver a sectional couch that was supposed to take 2 weeks the delivery guys couldn't figure out how to assemble it correctly. The gaps between the pieces were strategically disguised on display with pillows and blankets. To top it off you can't kick out all the legs at the same time. Good luck calling and getting any help, your on your own once you sign on the dotted line. Never again!

This place is hands down my favorite furniture store in Indiana. When me and my family moved into our new home we found Houseworks and we ended up buying 80% of our furniture from them. It may be a little expensive but it is worth it. Everything is high quality and lasts for quite awhile. We bought a white leather couch and it has withstood my family and our crazy life's. It looks good as new. If you are looking for modern furniture for a pretty good price house works is your place. Also make sure to check out their upstairs area which has lots of different office and bedroom furniture. This

$459 for a desk that looks cheap, is not much more than a table, you assemble yourself and only comes with a lockable drawer and file cabinet assembly. Hmmm. I could find something a lot more sturdy, in the color I want, in stock, with all the accessories, for less than half at IKEA. Customer service was fine, but you would have to be good to sell me this bill of goods.

I was surprised to find that this store was locally owned. I could swear something so big--4,000 square feet? Maybe 5,000?--dedicated to modern furniture had to be a chain. It's not.
Nowhere else in Indianapolis can you find so many housewares that look straight out of a Dali painting--especially the silver, kidney shaped bar I covet. They also have an impressive array of designer chairs cubbyholed by the dining room tables. They kind of look like a "rejected chair" factory, if you take that stance on three-legged avant-garde stools.
You'll also find 3-D "pebble"
