From the first phone call to the completion of the project, Peter and Leo were easy to work with and reliable. My old 1926 house needed a custom made door and some 'thinking outside the box' for the installation of the motor. The door was accurately measured, ordered and installed in the projected amount of time. I also appreciated how Peter stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. I would recommend them.

One of the torsion springs on my 15 year-old 16' garage door broke two days ago. Yesterday morning I read some online reviews of several shops in my area and could not help notice A-1 Garage Doors had nothing but five-star reviews on Google. Regardless, I decided to perform due diligence and get a few estimates.
Peter, the sole proprietor of A-1, promptly answered his phone and gave me a quote of $175 to replace both springs, which was almost $100 less than many of his larger competitors. Given his online reputation and his very fair pricing, I agreed to have him do the repair.

Peter was marvelous. He came out the same day that I called (a Saturday afternoon), assessed the problem (a broken spring), and advised me that "they don't make those springs anymore. I'll have to have the springs made." He had them made, called me Monday morning, and came out to complete the job Monday afternoon. It was not an easy job, but he worked without complaint. It took almost five hours to remove and replace the old springs. His charge was more than reasonable. In addition he's a really nice man.

A-1 was Great. Peter came out to replace our torsion springs and was both knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend his business, not only because his quote was less than half the other guys, but his attention to detail made sure the job was done right, the first time. Be confident calling A-1 knowing you will get a great value as well as quality!

Peter did a fantastic job. After a quick call and visit he thought that the door could be fixed instead of being replaced. No other company even offered to look and see if the door could be fixed. This saved me a bundle of money. He came out the next day and in three hours the door was fixed and working perfectly. When I'm ready to get a new door he will be the one I go to.
