Aluminum is the desired metal look for the coastal region. Wrought iron and steel, though sturdy and functional, does not do well in our area due to the rusting principles of the metal. The aluminum furniture products are either extruded or cast, hand-polished, powder coated and finished accordingly.
Wicker is a very broad category these days and continues to be popular for homes in our southern region. Natural wicker - the product used outdoors by earlier generations - is not good for our area as the pole and wicker structure does not handle humidity and temperature changes well. Man-made wicker, however, provides the same look but with more durable aluminum support framing and a synthetic woven wicker spline.
Wooden furniture has always had a long relationship with outdoor living. Whether it was the bentwood pieces from the mountain areas or the bulky redwood designs of many a backyard, wooden designs have always been popular. Teak is the predominant standard of high quality, while other specialty woods have come into the forefront as well.
The poly lumber category came into its own roughly two decades ago, with Poly-Wood leading the way. We have basically carried the product since its inception and have enjoyed seeing the progress made in design, comfort and function. The offerings are limitless, as other quality companies have brought forth their own unique take on the product.
Leisure World was founded on the making of our PVC furniture, still one of the most durable styles of outdoor furniture out there. We continue to make the furniture here on-site, though the breadth of new outdoor furniture categories has taken its toll on sales numbers. However, again, we have more testimonials about this furniture than any other!
