You know who likes spending money on a roof? Nobody - And the reason is simple. You can't see it. In fact, typically you forget it exists, until it isn't functioning properly and it leaks. For this reason, the roof gets neglected and is allowed to deteriorate beyond repair. Building owners that allow this to happen, end up spending a lot more money on their roofs.
Roofs can be restored with 1.5 of sprayed on Polyurethane Roofing Grade Foam. The foam is then covered with elastomeric coatings. These coatings are usually sprayed on in two separate passes. These coatings are extremely tough and U.V. stable and reflect 90% of the suns harmful rays off of your your roof.
Restoration is the future of Commercial roofing. The old logic of installing a hot black roof roof is disappearing. A-1 Roofing and Insulation has caught the vision for potential Re-Covering. Your old EPDM, TPO, MOD-BIT, HYPOLON, PVC roofs no longer need to be torn off when they reach the end of their expected life.
The R-value is a modern fairy tale. It's a fairy tale that has been so touted to the American consumer that it now has a chiseled in-stone status. But the saddest part of this fairy tale is that the R-value by itself is almost a worthless number. Consider the R-value of an insulation after it has been submerged in water or as a 20 mile-per-hour wind blows through it.
Below grade waterproofing is an application that must be done quickly and correctly, or it will have lasting implications on the structure. Several methods exist to waterproof a building from roll on products to applied sheeting, but most of these applications take time to apply and may require a long set time or cure time.
