Burns & Scalo was started in 1956 by John T. Scalo and Duke Burns as a residential roofing company. Under the leadership of John's son, Jack Scalo, Burns & Scalo grew in size and scope, establishing a permanent Columbus Ohio branch in 2000. Had them install a skylight in my home. It began leaking (badly) so I called the emergency crew to come out. They said they fixed the problem and left. One week later, more rain and more leaking. Another crew comes out and says "its fixed". More rain and a 3rd time workers come out. There is now extensive interior damage and the crew tells me "its fixed."
Now that there is damage inside they say its a roof problem and not actually a skylight issue so they won't be fixing anything inside my home. Further more, I got a bill for the work they did to fix the skylight ( even

Burns and Scalo is one of the best contractors that I have ever worked with. They started the job when they said they would, kept me informed EVERY day about the progress of the job, and cleaned up at the end of every day. Bill (foreman) and Javier were the main roofers on my job and they were unfailingly courteous and pleasant. I have a complicated roof, with many peaks and valleys, and Bill kept me in the loop about their approach to any challenging areas. I wish I could break this into three reviews. First, Scalo solar was fabulous to work with and I love the finished product of home solar panels. Great IT and follow-up. Second, I had a metal roof installed and I am loving having this solid roof to replace an old shingled roof.
Unfortunately, Scalo hung gutters so poorly at time of installation that it ruined this review. Three 40 foot sections and all three are hung improperly. The lowest point is in the middle of ALL three gutters, brackets fell off in less than a year, and metal trash was left in one gutter. This last issue led to a build

I have gone through many different roofing companies when trying to replace my roof. This company got decent reviews on Angies List - not great, but worth giving a try. There were not many places that could handle a building of my size. I called these guys twice over a period of two weeks - the gentleman who answered the phone said that he would pass my call on to the roofers who would give me a call back. That never happened.
