This is a painting techique that can create the impression of a myriad of materials such as wood, stone, leather or fabric or it can be used to recreate historical decorative patterns such as diamonds or stripes. This use of pictoral painting can expand the dimensions of a room and be reailistic, as in trompe l'oeil, or fanciful.
Instead of replacing a very expensive custom made window, we removed the rotten wood and applied wood hardener to stabilize the soft wood. We then applied epoxy-resin fillers, sanded smooth, primed and painted the window for a full restoration. Once a tree is cut down it is no longer a living organisim and needs to be adequately protected from the elements.
