Samantha lives in Redondo Beach, California, and has been landscaping for over 13 years. She grew up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire drawn to an outdoor lifestyle around animals and nature. After moving to California in 2005, she worked with and for several nurseries, farms, schools, community gardens, and environmental design firms.
Her passion for art and nature, people and their relationships with plants, and an academic career in Archaeobotany, helped shape her understanding of our immediate environmental needs. Combined, Terra Culture Designs was born to provide people with a range of sustainable, creative, and innovative landscape concepts for their homes, businesses, and communities.

Slick sales women doesn't deliver!
I met Samatha Iacobella of Terra Culture Designs. She seemed to know plants although she is not a licensed landscape designer. She also was late to our first meeting and she claimed I had texted her the wrong address. Not so. I know where I live and had given her clear directions and it was still correct in my text. She took no measurements of the area I wanted planted. She set a date to deliver a plan for the side of the house that my new dog would not destroy. He was eating his way through the existing plants. Our HOA contracted with Samantha for a large job, our entry and all common areas. All went well until we started planting. The landscapers waited the whole day for her and she never showed. The plant order reviewed by her left off 1/2 of the needed plants at an added cost of $29,000. Even worse, Samantha was no where to be found. We had paid her timely all her fees and she was still under contract to provide supervision . We called, texted and emailed her multiple times over the week requesting urgent assistance with no response.

Samantha got paid $500 to provide a design for my landscape. Clearly said that she will provide 2 designs from the beginning and agreed that she will keep working on it if it doesn’t satisfy us. Would not provide anything until she is paid in full !!! All I got from her was one design that did not have anything from what I talked to her about that we would like to have. No design for the front even though she got paid for that . Got offended when I told her that we do not like the design she cane up with !!! I heard about Samantha through a friend who had her back yard redone with new patios and planters. I was amazed by how much detail and care went into the landscaping. It was immensely colorful, creative, and just gorgeous to be surrounded by.
Samantha is absolutely amazing! Her knowledge of plants blew me away.
She gave me a great design for converting my front lawn areas and parkway into both an ornamental and edible yard. Her prices are VERY reasonable since I got many quotes before her and was shocked by just how much the design could cost. Most architects I spoke with were going to charge

I contacted Terra Culture Designs via her website. I promptly received a message to schedule an estimate. The date and time was set. I turned down OT at work to be home to meet up for the estimate and asked my wife to wait around an extra hour of her time. A total no-show. Never replied to my texts / emails - even to this day. If this is how she treats potential customers, I don't want to do business with her.

We were impressed with design she had done in for the front yards and houses around the area. We had her design and oversee a total remake of our front yard. Every day people stop by and say what a great job she did. I would highly recommend her and found her to be very Knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Samantha and her team were great from concept design to finished product. We needed to redo our backyard after decades of neglect and minimal care. The design was approved and then the team cleared the "jungle" and kept us appraised of what was next. During the project several add ons were performed including taking care of a dog run on the side of the house, digging trenches for new electrical and cleaning up under the deck area. Everything was done well and the back yard looks great. Samantha also gave us a post job maintenance plan which was unique and most helpful to keep things looking good

Samantha took our dirt lot and transformed it into lush sanctuary. She gave us insight on shaping the terrain, rock placement and selected several varieties of unique flora that you won't come across at your local big box garden center. Her knowledge of design, climate, soil and light set our garden firmly on the path to success. Plus, she's really nice.

We called Samantha about refreshing our drought-tolerant front and back yards. She came by and spent about an hour talking with us and offering suggestions on not only what they could do to help us, but also giving us very useful information on caring for our diverse plantings. She is very knowledgeable on plants and understands our climate and soil. She gave us a quote with a drawing and list of plants. With that we were able to look up the unfamiliar plants online. The quote included removing and replacing some plants, applying mulch, trimming a large Cape Honeysuckle and landscaping a north

Terra Culture Designs is owned by Samantha, who is very knowledgeable about plants, and also took time to listen to what I wanted and went over the details of which plants would thrive in specific areas of my yard. Her crew is very professional and efficient with installation, and this was a large project as I replaced lawn in front and back yards with succulents and CA natives.
