Brandywine Kitchen
In 2002, Azizi Tookas and Chris Sunde began with the idea to incorporate cuisine and local farming into one. Brandywine Kitchen is the culmination of their passion for food and sustainable agriculture. Brandywine first began as an heirloom tomato farm and has grown its niche to include a diversity of produce.

In 2008 Brandywine Gardens expanded into the prepared food business as Brandywine Kitchen. The result of this process is that Brandywine Kitchen can offer sustainable food that is locally based, delicious, and affordable. From seed to plate. From seed to plate is a motto that encompasses both our history as food producers and our belief that understanding and supporting local food systems, leads to a superior product.

In addition to growing a small amount of heirloom tomatoes for the restaurant, we source local produce and other local products, allowing us to use the freshest ingredients possible, make personal relationships with local producers, and keep money circulating within the Bellingham community.

Smallish menu but it has all you need. Fair prices on great food plus craft beer & cider in a casual family-friendly atmosphere. All your favorite sandwiches & burgers but with a twist. Super fresh and tasty. Order at the counter and the friendly wait staff brings it to your table. Would definitely come back here. Their version of the Banh Mi is pictured

Ordered a tofu sandwhich with side salad, my mom ordered fish and chips. Delicious food. Big portions. Easy to navigate menu. Helpful and friendly staff. Asking about allergy concerns was a breeze and our cashier was very understanding. Great building and environment set up. Went to kill 45 minutes around lunch time, ended up hanging out for a bit over an hour chatting. Clean bathrooms and kitchen. Also right across the street from a parking garage, which is why we went, however I recommend going for the food. Decently priced, simple menu, with lots of variety. Overall great lunch spot.

Came to an Irish bar called Uisce which was cool and asked the lady for Fish and Chips recommendations since I was with my British companion checking out Bellingham. The lady at the bar recommended this place (Brandywine) that was next door as they would deliver to our table...

The Brit said the chips were "absolute rubbish, as the oil they used either had not been changed in a while or they just straight over cooked them. It's such a simple part of the dish and I am shocked that this is what America is serving as our traditional cuisine"...

The lady behind the bar went next

If you're looking for a healthy, sustainable filing meal, this is your place. Went here with an empty stomach after a hike, and grabbed some sandwiches to go. COVID friendly, nice staff, and cute interior. Although the prices put me off guard, I really enjoyed the apple jalapeño chicken sandwich! The lentil soup was filling and hearty, great to keep you warm during the winter. They have quality ingredients and locally source their produce which is a bonus. The best way to enjoy their food is to take it over to teddy bear cove and watch the sunset. Adds to the Bellingham experience in my opinion

The food was great but expensive. My son gobbled up their Mac and cheese like I have not seen him do ever, my husband loved their bread and I was a huge fan of the orchard salad. $50 for a sandwich, salad and some Mac and cheese feels a little crazy.

I love Brandywine. Food is always great, every single time. They make the best salads with so many veggies, and the homemade basil vinaigrette is so good. Then you have to get a side of fries with their dipping sauce. Delish!
I've recently had to go gluten free for health reasons and I pretty much had a meltdown about all the pasta I will be missing. Then I got their GFree mac & cheese. Hallelujah! It's amazing and you would have no idea it's not full of wheat. Thank you Brandywine

Sorry to give a 2-Star rating. We've tried this place twice & just can't get excited about it. The food both times was very lackluster, at best. The sandwich I had last time was dry, loaded with lettuce & very little else.
It's a cute place, but could be cleaner; we had to search to find a table that had been cleaned since the last customer (it was not at all busy). Counter service, bus your table. For us, twice is enough, I doubt we'll be back.

Yum yum yum! This place offers a great selection of sandwiches, burgers, and entrees for lunch. It is located off of Commercial Street. Parking is much easier than other downtown locations since they have a covered parking garage across the restaurant. The top floor of the parking garage offers a great panoramic view of downtown Bellingham. I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich for $14. While it is a bit pricey, the food tasted wonderful. You also get a choice of soup or salad along with the main dish. My colleague ordered a crispy chicken sandwich special. That looked delicious as well.

Brandywine is a bit pricey... but I keep coming back anyways.

Their portions are not large for the price. BUT they are always delicious and we can finish our meals without needing to take home left overs.

My go to is always the French dip with the indian lentil soup. The soup doesnt really compliment this sandwich, but it's delicious so who cares.

The french dip has perfectly tender meat and the au jus is AMAZING. It's also topped with a glorious amount of cheese... yum.

Place fills up quickly during dinner rush but plenty of seats upstairs. Or come during lunch when it isnt so busy

Very nice space with tall ceilings and windows, light and airy atmosphere. The lack of table service takes it down a notch. Food is solidly in the "OK, I guess" camp. It would be a great place to eat and drink and hang out with friends on a rainy day.

Dropped from three stars to two, as I got sick from the rancid salad oil that I ate.

Ate here with a Jacy and Jodi.
Got the bahn mi with pork. It was good but I have high standards due to legit Vietnamese bahn mi in Seattle. Jacy loved her tofu one and Jodi liked her fish tacos.

Brandywine is great place! Lots of good options whether you are gluten free or vegan. They have a great happy hour, and also excellent champagne cocktails! Today I tried their tofu bahn mi, which had good flavor but was a bit over saturated by the slaw and the baguette had become a bit soggy. Dishes I would recommend included Mac and cheese, fish and chips, and the house salad with basil vinaigrette is great! The French fries here are great- they leave the skin on the potatoes for a more natural take on fries and they are so good.

I ordered the portobello sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was delicious. Definitely fresh. I'd order it again. The salad was delicious, but came with brown paper towel mixed in. Gross.

Every time I'm in Bellingham, I stop by Brandywine. The restaurant prides itself on using high quality locally sourced ingredients which really shows in their fantastic food. Today I ordered the Mediterranean sandwich. The bread was well baked and fluffy, and the eggplant, mozzarella, tomato, aioli, and balsamic reduction all blended amazingly to make each bite perfection. I got the Tom Kha (Thai Soup) on the side, and the coconut milk flavor really stood out to make a great soup. I've had multiple other sandwiches in the past, and just like my Mediterranean today, none of them have ever

Fantastically fresh food here. The Texas BBQ Pork and Mediterranean Eggplant sandwiches were delightful to look at and delicious. And the fries? Some of the best in town, no question. Warm, inviting space and friendly staff, too. Will definitely return.

First of all, yes, you bus your own table -- but that is most of Bellingham because we respect our waitstaff and cultivate community responsibility. So if you don't like that, don't come here.

Second, amazing food, especially for those with allergies.

Third, primo spot downtown.

Great place in Bellingham for some amazing hand crafted and delicious food and drinks. We enjoyed it so much we went back two days in a row.
Great food: had the salmon cakes with a excellent salad, roasted eggplant sandwich with fries and a basil aioli and our daughter had a burger - also looked excellent.
They have a relaxed atmosphere and nice outdoor patio seating which we enjoyed.
Give it a shot as I think it's well worth it.

The sandwich and salad were ok, but the lentil soup was watered down with not much flavor. This would have scored an average rating, but the dirty dish situation brings sanitation into question. You order at the counter and bus your own dishes. Normally that is not an issue, but the bin in the condiments cabinet on short shelves. You either have to squeeze the plates (silverware and bowls on top) over the bin, or pull out the bin to place the dishes in there. I do not want to have to touch the dirty dish bin after my meal.
