The Autrey family began landscaping over 40 years ago when David Autrey (Sr.) started doing local jobs to support his wife & 5 sons. Then, as the years went by, he began working on larger jobs and expanded into other areas of Western North Carolina. As he began to focus more on his wholesale nursery business, he decided to turn over the reins to two of his sons, David (Jr.) and Chris.
He has the gift of being able to determine a customer's personality & goals and then create a landscape design that is a reflection of their lifestyle and vision. He's also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, so all of our customers love working with him! He is a NC Licensed Landscape Contractor, NC Certified Plant Professional, and a licensed Landscape Designer.
Outdoor living spaces are one of the most popular trends in today's landscapes, and one of the most requested elements is an outdoor fire pit. What a wonderful, cozy place to gather friends & family for an outdoor party, roasting marshmallows, or simply relaxing on a cool evening. We will create your fire pit and surrounding patio area to suit your needs & style preferences.
I think you all are top notch! I recommend you to anyone who asks, and just about everyone who sees my Zen water feature does ask. I am enjoying my back yard for the first time in five years thanks to the hard work of your team. Imagine moving into your new home/community from out of state. A minivan was parked in front of my house with three kids and their dad. He was just looking at the front of the house without noticing me. I gave a happy toned, hi, how you doing as I approached his minivan.
He looked up and said, you have no idea how much grief you’ve caused me.

We have benefited from multiple services from Autrey tree and landscaping at two homes in Asheville over the past twelve years. Chris Autrey and his crew have built new fencing, patios, stone walls, installed driveway pavers, installed sod, large trees and shrubs, amended soil, maintained established trees and shrubs with appropriate pruning. We have referred him to friends and neighbors with great results. He has designed pathways and steps in multiple varied elevations. Unprofessional and overpriced. The worst business I have ever dealt with. If you are looking for landscapers who are willing to do the work you are paying for, find another landscaper. If you want a landscaper who is going to "wing it", hire Autrey Landscaping. Just make certain you get every little detail in writing.
