It all started with Stephanie's mother-in-law who designs beautiful interiors for people in Northern Nevada and has a love for faux paintings. She suggested to Leslie and Stephanie that they start creating their own faux finishes because of their talent for painting. The girls headed off to Omaha, Nebraska where they enrolled in a faux finish school.
Decorative Painting or Faux Finishing are both terms used to describe a wide range of decorative and artistic faux painting techniques and textures. From the French word for "fake, " faux painting began as a form of replicating materials such as marble and wood with paint. Its use later expanded to encompass many other decorative painting finishes for walls and furniture.

Leave behind the gray and white! Leslie can turn drab into "Wow!" She has done work for me in two homes. In one home she had to match some previous old world faux. I was amazed at her perfect match. The appearance of texture is so rich. My kitchen received a beautiful ethereal light blue that is bright and admired by many. In my other home, she took my original dark red brick and rather than simply pain over it, she brightened it to retain the charm of the brick but now with the appearance of German Schmear. I highly recommend.
