We've had Kern and his team work in our home twice, and we've been delighted both times.

The first job was to paint most of our main floor - made more complex by the fact that our less-than-level home created quite a few stress cracks, and we were fully moved in and living there. Kern and his team worked around us and our stuff, keeping everything as tidy as possible even with copious mudding and sanding. He was clear and communicative about the schedule. The walls and ceiling look lovely now - you would never have known that there were cracks.

We needed someone to fix a few things in our apartment before putting it on the market and Kern was recommended to us. He was prompt, courteous and reasonably priced (and insured!). His work was impeccable, he left no mess and was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him!

I can add from my own experience not meeting Kern first hand, that he was extremely professional in his communication with me, and the quoted price was competitive and fair. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Kern and ALG Painting highly enough. The communication was great from the start, whether it be phone, text or e-mail. Kern was always available to respond within a reasonable amount of time. He was upfront about all pricing and scheduling. We had some issues with my building requiring multiple certifications, and while it delayed the project, Kern worked with us all the way to get it done as soon as he could.

Kern is amazing! He managed a quick turnaround time and recommended the perfect color for my high ceiling bedroom. He patched up any holes in the walls, clearly explained his process, and even helped me latch shades for the windows. He's a gentleman and a great businessman!

After getting numerous quotes from other contracting companies, I decided to go with ALG Painting for two reasons:
One, my first impressions of the owner Kern was his professionalism, his knowledge of his craft and his friendly personality. Secondly, I preferred a smaller company for firsthand assurance and accountability. After Kern and I had met, he was on the job with his team, therefore, I knew if I had any issues, I could both approach and reach him directly.

Kern and his team painted my 2 floor brownstone apartment. They moved all of my furniture, protected everything from dust and splatters, patched and repaired any damaged areas, and then painted my walls, ceilings and a considerable amount of trim and historic mill work. In addition to being the nicest guys, they did an amazing job. The work was impeccable and they were courteous, professional, fast and neat. I have a 160 year old brownstone and have dealt with many contractors - I can't say enough good things about this company!

Kern and his team did a great job with fire escapes on a building that really needed attention.
The iron was rusty and he scraped, primed and painted them. It was a labor intensive job and its done, in a timely fashion. He sent pictures to me, since Im not there. He's courteous, pleasant, very professional, and has a can do attitude. I like working with him and am hiring him for another job too. He is busy but organized. Kern does great work! He painted a room in our apartment. He was easy to reach and flexible about scheduling. He did a beautiful job, finished it quickly, and the price was more than fair. He is also a very nice guy. Would absolutely call him for any other painting job I needed.

There are not enough words to describe what AMAZING PAINTERS Kern and his team are. After a grueling renovation of my apartment in Brooklyn, painting was my last step. I wish I was so lucky to have every contractor I dealt with be like Kern. Not only is Kern energetic and a master of his trade, his work ethic and trustworthy nature is a breath of fresh air! I had absolutely no problem leaving him and his team in my home alone with ALL of my belongings. I came back to find everything clean and better then I had ever expected.
