Gifford Fence Company was started in 1978 by Jerry Gifford Sr. He started the company while working full time for the Nashville Metro Health Department. He would do it on weekends and holidays to help make ends meet. Eventually he became successful enough with the fence company that he decided to make it his full time job.
Please take a look at some of the shadowbox wood privacy fences we have done in the past. Maybe it will help with deciding what type of fence you want to go with. Our shadwobox fences have enough overlap of the pickets to operate as a privacy fence since you can only see through the fence at extreme angles.
We use high quality pressure treated pine and cedar materials from some of the nations largest suppliers. All of our wood fences include 4"x4" or 6"x6" posts anchored with concrete, 2"x4" support rails and either 5/8"x5-1/2" pickets for our privacy fences or 1"x4" pickets for picket fencing. We use pressure treated posts and rails with your choice of pressure treated or cedar pickets.
All of our aluminum fences are installed with materials from premium manufacturers like Ideal, Alumi-Guard, OnGuard Fence Systems & Barrett. All aluminum fence products come with a manufacturers limited lifetime warranty. Aluminum is an absolutely fabulous fence product. It is maintenance free, light weight but strong, doesn't rust and comes in several colors (black is the stock color).
All of our vinyl fence products are supplied by premium companies like Prestige Vinyl Products, Homeland Vinyl Products, Bufftech & Barrett. All vinyl fence products come with a manufacturers limited lifetime warranty. PVC fence is maintenance free, won't rot or degrade and comes in various colors and you can combine colors to create a unique fence for your yard.

I checked out 3 fence companies before I chose Gifford. The actual owner of the business came out to oversee my fence project. His knowledge of fence building was superior to the "salesmen" the other fence companies sent me. He's been at it since 1978, so I figured it would be worth it. It was. I am completely satified, the price was fair and the work was done on-time and as spcified. I reccommend them to anyone looking to build a fence.
