Chief Construction specializes in Design-Build because it offers single-source responsibility that provides more flexibility and value-based solutions.
Design-Build is a straightforward approach to construction. From design to final punch list, the team works together, communicating openly and collaborating with purpose to deliver the highest quality results. Inviting the Owner to sit at the same table as the architect, project manager, estimators and engineers inspires collaboration to overcome obstacles and produce the best ideas.
With this project delivery method, the project owner holds separate contracts for design and construction. This method has three main sequential phases, the design phase, the bidding phase and the construction phase. Chief Construction will review the design plans and work with the architect to receive any needed clarity on the project to create a feasible schedule.
A project owner typically hires a Construction Manager (CM) when they have a larger, more complex project. In this project delivery method, the project owner may have separate contracts for the construction manager, designer, and general contractor. The project owner may rely on the CM to hire and manage the design team and general contractor.
